David Moyes - all reaction here

Moyes is his own man, that's why he got shut of all of SAF backroom staff, I couldn't imagine him asking anyone for advice, he has to do it his way IMO

Excellent point

Ferguson should have had a word when Moyes wanted to bring his own staff in and gently persuaded him to use the staff who were already there

Moyes could have brought his own team in once he'd had some success

Completely agree with this. Even for a year or two until he came to grips with the Club, built his team and earned their respect.

He's just making a complete balls of it.

It wasnt Fergie that sat on his hands and watched as the transfer window shut.

That was his fatal mistake, lets not forget that at the start of the Season we had all the rumpus with Rooney crying that he didnt think the squad was good enough, im sure he wasnt the only 1 that had that thought.

For sure, the squad isn't a patch on the best United squads of the Ferguson era, but they were good enough to win the league last year, and have added Januzaj and Zaha to it, even without Fellaini and Mata.

I dare say if they were in the top 4 at least competing for the title then most United fans would be fine with this season. Transitional stuff and all that.

The problem is that they're miles off the pace and Moyes is clearly not getting anything close to the best from the players he does have.

As in how do you follow Ferguson's footsteps.

Regarding transfers, that's as much (if not moreso) Woodward and Co's fault. Moyes assigns the targets and then the board offered measly transfer fees for Fabregas, Baines, etc.

Jose would have shredded the team apart in July, maybe sooner. Pep would have done something similar (I wonder how much this "mole" story is real or not). Not sure about Klopp. Moyes isn't going to do that, but I'm not sure whether Ferguson thought this was good or bad. It appears obvious now that what was needed was a new manager and new interior. Every US President remodels the Oval Office after moving in; doesn't seem like such a bad idea after all.

What he really needs, though, is the players' backing and the latest leaks out of the dressing room are not exactly glowing for Moyes and his staff, in particular the coach who now goes by a deeply unflattering nickname. Footballers can be brutal sometimes and, behind his back, that coach is apparently being referred to as "[Poor language removed] off (name)" – on the basis that is so often the first response when they hear his instructions.

Interesting, I can only imagine this is referring to headset steve

Moyes will be given more time and significant sums to spend in the summer.

My understanding is that the Board will back him and crucially the Board see a number of players at fault, not the manager. The Board are keen to move a lot of players on...

Having taken a look on redcafe, I think some of the whoopers on their will commit mass suicide, if moyes stays on for another season

If thats true, then they are daft. You do not trust hundreds of millions of pounds of a rebuilding job to someone who has built his team on Rooney - it would be like trying to start a major religion on the life and times of that Iscariot fellow.

He knew hwat he was walking into and he took the job thinking he could do it. But he made several mistakes mainly:
- sacking the coaching staff and replacing them with Round, Nev and Woods.
- Faffing in the transfer market
- Not learnigj from his mistakes here (over negative etc)
