David Moyes - all reaction here

For the first time, on Sunday, I started to feel pity for Moyes. It's clear that his players don't give a monkeys. He needs to make huge changes, both backroom and playing staff. Will he have the balls however? No. Will he take over Newcastle when Pardew karate chops a fourth official and gets sacked? Yes.

Said it all along that thats the next appointment for both, he may be gone too soon though for it to happen.

Also said he'll take the barcodes down before heading further North.

Probs end up at Celtic eventually and think he's the big I Am by winning that spittoon they have up there.

I don't even think he'd win the league with Celtic

Can you see him going to Ibrox and getting 3 points?

The interesting thing is that no one seems to be asking questions of Ferguson over all of this. It's largely his playing squad and Moyes was his choice to replace him. Should his judgement and role in all of this be beyond question?

Excellent point

Ferguson should have had a word when Moyes wanted to bring his own staff in and gently persuaded him to use the staff who were already there

Moyes could have brought his own team in once he'd had some success

The thing is, you sack him now. Who do you replace him with?

Talking to two UTD fans today, who said they have been offered derby tickets ( didn't know it was soon? Or they where joking) and that that's never happened before.

They want Klopp, and both agreed they had high hopes for Moyes and both recited almost for gospel fergusons line about supporting the new manager.

I also heard he has been telling them to watch videos of osman and Jags? Is this a rumour or a joke. Probably both..

My own take is it took me a while to accept his departure having seen him for so long, it's ironic that after a reasonably short period of time he has lost the fans. They both couldn't believe the current champions would ever hire a manager who finishes 'low' down the league and has never won major trophy in his life.

I don't think he will be sacked, it would be disastrous if they sacked him after Fergie anointed him.if anything it will be get a replacement in behind him ASAP.

Moyes added to it where it didn't need adding to. Fellaini isn't a defensive mid and Mata was a panic buy. New, proper box to box centre mid, full back either side and another centre half would have been a good start.

Ferguson clearly saw him as the best replacement but it was the board who offered him the contract. Who else could they have got apart from Mourinho though?
My thoughts exactly mate

That was the Championship of course, but I think he's got all the skills to make it in the Big Leagues

He just needs a more adventurous manager who will give him his chance

Still a bit raw as is to be expected but he is a proper athlete, hopefully he gets trained properly and becomes someone decent.

lets face it, lets actually think about this logically for 2 minutes

its all set up for fergie to come back and save them aint it?

I doubt it, im pretty sure hes enjoying his retirement, well the days when he doesnt go and watch the side he built getting utterly destroyed every week.

The other weird thing is that part of the rationale behind having a coach for a long time is that they get time to build a way of working. You saw with Ferguson and see with Wenger that their clubs have a way of doing things that has become a part of the DNA of each club.

You wouldn't get Tony Pulis replacing Wenger for instance. It suggests that the club has figured out a way of going about trying to win matches, and the manager has to be cut from that cloth, thus making it easier for a smooth transition as you don't need lots of new players to pick up new styles as the style is largely pre-determined.

That was surely the rationale behind hiring Moyes, that he was cut from the same cloth as Ferguson. That they seem to have got that so badly wrong is pretty damning on the club.

It wasnt Fergie that sat on his hands and watched as the transfer window shut.

That was his fatal mistake, lets not forget that at the start of the Season we had all the rumpus with Rooney crying that he didnt think the squad was good enough, im sure he wasnt the only 1 that had that thought.
