Daily Mail rag puts the boot into Martinez, the night before the derby

Garbage - and I wouldn't bet against Roberto using it to fire the team up.

Eto'o had a serious effect on team morale and that's been a major problem which was sorted out. As far as Lennon is concerned what do you expect from someone who had been running up and down the motorway all of Transfer Deadline Day.. you'd look half buggered too after that.

Well if I drove up and down the motorway all day and then at the end of it someone gave me a deal to play footie for 50 thousand quid a week, I'd be face beaming, but I take your point like.

There is going to be hell to pay if Gerrard doesn't win tomorrow. It's going to be like JFK not bombing Cuba, the higher ups are going to be dead mad. This was just a warning shot.

That was true at the start of the season but from Chelsea game onwards can't say I've noticed it in many players other than Besic (adapting to the league) or those players coming back from injury like Barry.

Coleman seemed to have the reverse problem after his achilles injury - he started matches very slow and needed a lot of cover from McGeady (which overtired him) before warming up in the second part of games.

We've been mentally fragile but not so much fitness wise imo

But it's all part of the big picture though, we were under cooked for the first few games...confidence drops..players try harder and push themselves more even though their fitness isn't upto scratch and they put themselves in danger of injuries... like Lukaku at the begining of the season, like Stones and Coleman coming back to soon before Christmas and like Mirallas and McCarthy now, all important players.

For the last 8-10 years we've always had our squads fitness to bail us out in the dying minutes of games but since the start of this season we've looked knackered after 75 minutes. I hope this trip to the training camp sharpened them up because possession based football's principles is based on tiring the opposition out, but all it seems to be doing this season is running us into the ground.

I accidentally green arrowed the worst rated comment about us being a small club and now don't know how to change it. Can everyone red arrow it just to make it up please?
