I always used to hope that Pietersen and Freddie would get together and have a devastating partnership but it never seemed to happen. It was invariably one or the other who went big. Likewise I now dream that Stokes and Buttler might do it. Maybe this is the time? Would make for a great evening session.

Always seems to be best when you have contrasts at each end. A biffer with a blocker. The blocker knows he can hold up and end knowing the biffer will keep the score ticking over, and the biffer has freedom knowing the blocker will be less likely to get out and herald a collapse.

Normally I'd agree but just for once it would be nice to see a 'let's have a whole load of fun' partnership.

Who's leading the way in the chase for our vote ( :D) for man of the match so far then?

Zac Crawley or Ollie Pope as s consolation prize for making F* all? or perhaps Royston Chase for his four wickets and being on the wrong side?

:D

Ben Stokes is just a phenomenon as Roberto might say

The forecast on the BBC is predicting a dry day with just a chance of rain (less than 35% at any hour but far less most hours) but maybe some before play starts. Not sure why the commentators are taking such a bleak view of the prospects.

Just like the TMS crowd they just hanker after a declaration virtually all the time. Tactically it might be right but you never play as if it's going to rain if they say it probably won't.
