Cricket

Looking at the forecast that looks like it for the day, I suppose it was expected but there looks no chance of any play today.

Some actually wanted four day tests, yes you Michael Vaughan on TMS, idiot.

Yes, forget today - it's a four day test except two days had lapsed before we found out.

Welcome back the Lancashire leagues, Bolton league, Southport, Merseyside and Liverpool competitions and all those other leagues in the North West too, I bet we all missed watching the rain fall from the pavilion.

You've got to think though the North West is one of the wettest parts of the country so the ECB have decided one of the most suitable venues for two tests is the actual rain magnet of the North West itself in Manchester. Why wasn't Headingley or Edgbaston deemed more suitable?

Old Trafford and Ageas Bowl were chosen because of their on ground hotels. They limit the contact with anyone else, thus providing a strong bubble for everyone involved.

Damn and blast this weather. Saturday of the Old Trafford test, in mid July and nothing all day. Takes me back to childhood days, used to hate it when there was no cricket to watch. I was going to spend the day with my old Dad and watch it with him, but doesn't look like a ball will be bowled now.
We should think about having the cricket season in March, April September and October, they seem to be the best months of the year these days.

That's so sad, hope you manage to watch with him tomorrow or the next test.

Yeah as Handball said --->Abandoned for the day as tbf most suspected at 11am

Most of the country is bathed in sunshine and even most local cricket league matches started a few hours ago all around the North West, but Old Trafford being the rain magnet it is bucks the trend once again.

No wonder Lancs have only won the championship about once in the last ten thousand years and that was when they played at outgrounds with Old Trafford unavailable. Even if they'd had sides to match the great West Indies or Australian sides of the past fifty years they still wouldn't have won it more than the once.
