If Yobo had Xavi and Inesta in front of him he'd belt it long.

Covering the players' embarrassment. Although he is limited as a manager.

Yeah he is limited. He has very little ambition when it comes to the matches.

But he needs to keep his mouth shut on certain aspects of the game, because he is starting to behave erratically at the moment.

Yep you right mate. That's exactly what we need. Not sure Arteta is actually good enough though. He was good on the wing, but I think CM is a big big task and you need a big player to do it. Not sure he has the balls to do it and push us forward. Moyes clearly doesn't see it as an issue though as he is happy to play kick and rush football.

Arteta did exactly that last season, he was fantastic. Taking the ball off the back four, dictating play, knitting things together and protecting the back four with intelligent positioning and tenacity.

You'll see when he gets fit this season, that's all I can say.

carsley. there was not much bite in the middle, and certainly no one to slow the play down.

i guess fernandez would have helped in that position, but that is another thread.

moyes does not need a right back as he can push neville there. he needs a right midfielder and a center midfielder in the fernandez style.

and center back cover.

so i think he needs 3 players before the window shuts.

imo the only box to box player we have is fellaini .(he did the role very well for standard against top opposition)
he is being asked to do some sort of cf/cm/cdm hodge bodge role by moyes currently.
the poor lad is more than likely completely lost on what the manager expects him to do.
i find his role completely baffling and cant see any point , aim , or benefit of such a role for the team or the player in our current formation and lineup.

other than that we have arteta (injured) who can dictate play.

the thing is, im sure that ...

1. moyes will continue to use fellaini in the current really confusing position/role (instead of swapping him with cahill , who is a not very good cm in a 442 , but brilliant playing just behind a lone striker-ie fellaini's current role)

2. when arteta is back , moyes will stick him straight back on the rm , upsetting arteta and the fans , while sticking with cahill (cam)and neville(rb ) in cm .

or 3. if arteta does go straight into the center , osman will continue to be first choice rm(no no no), and we will lose either fellaini or cahill from the starting 11 to accomodate him.

a poor rb , a poor rm , a cam and rb in cm , a cm in cf , no cover for cb , no cover for lb , even cover for lm is dependant on other factors........sorting out what everton need and our best 11 is more confusing than a rubiks cube.(thats without taking into account whats going on off the pitch)

getting a good player , better than we currently have ,in any position (apart from striker and gk ) is a very very very good place to start.(y)

my head hurts now.

What a shocker of a first message. Why hasn't Moyes done anything to fill the gap? Well, he has tried, but the club has failed to come up with the money. Moutinho anyone, why do you think he doesn't play for Everton now?

Well how about now mate?

What?

He has tried? We've had two summers and 4 transfer windows to bring in a creative midfielder. They came up with 15m for Fellaini - so don't give me that about the club not coming up with any money.

We didn't need Jo for another season, Yakubu is almost back so where does that leave Saha, Vaughan, Jo? We only ever play 1 up front. So we seem to have numerous players for one position and only one player who can play creative midfielder.

Hopefully Moyes will sign someone in that mould.

As for Arteta not being strong enough, you really need to start watching us more mate.

I do watch Everton. When i've not been able to go I watch them on tv or on a stream, so don't say that.

I just don't think Arteta is strong enough to dictate a game against the likes of the teams we need to beat to progress.

Honestly, have a word with yourself. Fellaini was bought after the money was raised from sales at which point it was too late for Moutinho (and the club was still a few million short in any case). Jo was available on loan and we were already short on forwards last season. Saha will be injured again as will Vaughan. As for Yakubu, there is no telling when he is really fit, not just clear of injury.

And don't you think Pienaar is creative? Problem is with no money it's really hard to sign quality midfielders.

Look pal, don't patronise me. I study Everton 7 days a week, that's all I do in what little spare time I have.

But I find it very hard to see that we are looking to sign creative midfelders in the likes of Mout, Fernandes, etc and then we don't sign them.

So it's clear that it is a position Moyes is looking to fill, yet he seems to move onto areas where we don't need.

We don't need 9 strikers at the club. Even though some are a little inexperienced, we don't need that many.

Saha and Jo have offered very little to this club.

I think Pienaar is creative, but I just don't think he has the muscle.

Sounds like you want an enforcer-playmaker. It's easier to find rocking horse [Poor language removed]. And how much would a Roy Keane cost today?
