A lot of sense in that mate - he is a bad Ted though, i reckon hes ike Cahill though you dont really mind if hes your ted.

Exactly he's a bad smell no doubt , but you can't quite smell it near as much when he's on your team , I just hope he doesn't come if it means sacrificing Leighton Baines , we want him playing in the team with him not part ex'n

As much as i would like to see that on some dodgey internet site. I actually think Davey has been trying to set up with a focal point striker and two inside forwards/supporting striker who can drop deep for a while now.

Hence Anichebes Morph to the RW and no one having an idea what position Billy should play, i think he wants to play something similar to Malouda - Droba - Anelka/Kalou at Chelsea and have overlapping full backs.

I think he certainly wants that as an option. He used Donovan that way at times. The fact that we have good defensive central midfielders & that Coleman can play wing-back helps. You might see several formations in any one game (if we can add the appropriate forwards).

Agreed.

He's also talented and versatile. He could play in Beckford position (running in behind), just off the striker or as a left sided forward as you've pointed out. I'd prefer a younger player (wouldn't we all) but It'd be a good short term move all things considered.

I think he's a fantastic player - very quick and an eye for goal.

Mr Moyes is the best man manager in the business.

Recipe:

1. Take the first line and add to the second line.

2. Mix for a season.

3. See what the finishing product looks like.

THE MAN IN THE STREET SUPPORTS EVERTON

Bellamy wants to be in Cardiff to be with his family. His desire for that to happen was so strong that City didn't hold him to playing for them. Cardiff can't afford his transfer fee and wages though, so he's still officially a City player. The logical thing to happen would be for City to cancel his contract and let him join the Bluebirds full time. He doesn't want to be in the North West, whether with City or anybody else. Even if he did, after having bent over backwards to accommodate him, it would be a slap in the face to his parent club for him to ask to move to us. They'd veto it out of principle.

If that wasn't enough of an issue we wouldn't be able to afford his wages. According to the Echo he's on £90k per week. If reports are to believed Demba Ba wanted £70k per week, but it was too rich for us.

Bellamy's record at Cardiff was 11 goals in 35 games. Not too bad but, when you consider that he's dropped down a division, you'd expect his class to shine through. He ranked only number 25 in the top scorers list for the Championship behind David Nugent, Chris Commons (who moved in January), Kris Boyd, Leroy Lita and Marlon King amongst others. Ian Harte scored as many goals as Bellamy from left back. Yakubu scored as many as him too. Vaughan and Jutkiewicz were both only two goals behind.

Plus he'll be 32 in about a fortnight.

Why would we ignore all those obstacles and plough ahead with a transfer?

To be fair to him, he's probably played about 75% of the last two seasons playing from a wide left position. He's scored 24 goals during that time, which is a very decent return. I've never really considered him an out and out goalscorer, even when he was played as a striker. He's always liked to come towards the ball, turn and run with it. I remember him saying that one of the reasons he didn't like playing for Benitez was because he was always asking him to run in behind like a Beckford or Andy Johnson. He can do it pretty well, but it's not his natural game.

I think we'd be getting much more than a striker. He's a creative player, and very adaptable. I can see what your saying about young players in general, but If we are going to take a gamble on someone, I think he'd be a really good option. Moyes does like him aswell, he's tried to sign him twice over the last few years.

You make a well-reasoned argument. I think there are major sticking points that would prohibit any deal though. From a footballing point of view he could offer us something, but I'd be concerned about having so many players in their thirties and late twenties amongst our forwards. We'd only really have Coleman and Anichebe with young legs. Our attacking play can be quite pedestrian at the best of times. Pace is one of Bellamy's best assets, but can he still burn past Premier League defenders at 32?

There's no reason to spend money on an ageing ******** who's not only played for the ****e but will lose his pace soon and as a result 80% of his game. So in summary its a no from me...

I would say yes i would be more worried about injuries to be fair - he would be a usefull player on loan.

This has become one of those stories that wont go away. His abilities are without question but his character and his wages is not Everton. He needs a club because city dont want to bankroll his wages and Everton need a striker... nothing changes.

I like to think that Moyes has more clout than we give him credit. His style is cautious and that spills into his transfer dealings as well. If Moyes did have a yearly budget to spend I doubt Bellamy would be on the top ten most wanted.

The only rumor doing the rounds at present I'd like to be true is the N'zogbia one. I feel there is a good relationship between Wigan and Everton which might just ease the deal. But hey, as the man said... until we hear it from Moyes or our preferred option, the mighty LCAB!!

Hopefully an option behing the Zog, but i tink he could be a really usefull additon tbh.

The Zog isn't going to happen. Villa are on a similar level to us, but they actually have the cash and need to replace Young, so unless he chins McCleish during negotiations, I can't see us having a chance.

I rate Bellamy, but I don't want us spending substantive amounts on 31 year olds.

A relatively affordable fee or a loan would be great though.
