Current Affairs Cost of living…

Went out for a pizza the other night and was saddened to see the prices had risen again in all the local independent takeaways.

Cheapest I could find was £12.50 for a 12” pizza. At Dominos it was £10 for 13.5”

It’s a trend I’m seeing across several industries. I’ve been trying to shop locally for tools and I don’t mind paying an extra 10% or so, but most of the time the local shops can’t even give me a price. They complain they’ve got to spend £30k+ on stock so they can still make a profit, so it’s not worth it. I can get almost everything I need tools wise off Amazon these days.

This isn’t sustainable. It feels like everything we buy and consume will eventually be owned by 4 or 5 big companies.

Not sure this is the right thread for this but here goes. Yesterday my Daughter, she's 31 works 16 hours a week and a single mum, her Daughter is 8. Was informed by letter as from January her Dentist same as mine and wife, will be going private. But she can stay on if she can find £248 per year membership fee's and £104 for her Daughter p/year. Our MP, Derek Twigg has informed the Widnes public there are no more NH Dentists in our area taking on more patients, what shocked me is basically a Child is being charged to have a Dentist. Disgusting state of affairs in Tory Britain eh, though a couple of posters on here will rejoice at this and I don't mean Pete. Can't wait until these barstewards are voted out.
My dentist that I have been going to for nearly 40 years went private about 5-6 years a go. I have never been since.. ridiculous prices!

I look after my teeth well. I don't think I'm in a hurry to go back..

Yep..

We're heading for another huge financial crash soon.

We will see thousands of starving families.

We are being completely destroyed by the Tories and the rich.

I'd happily see them all executed.

The loveable left here. You’d have them all executed 🤣 shameful comment.

I think you over estimate the Tories part in the cost of living crisis, which is mainly driven by energy prices due to lunatic green policies, and the war in Ukraine. The war that was caused by EU and NATO expansion btw.

Well, that escalated quickly... complaining about the cost of going to the dentist, and the cost of paying for takeaway pizzas, to encouraging the execution of 14,000,000 Briton's... for voting differently.

What a repugnant thing to post. Akin to genocide, and it will be tolerated on here.

If / when he is charged, said chainsaw should be used to chop off one of his hands.
I see...

lunatic unimplemented green policies. it'll be greenpeace next, responsible for sewage everywhere...
Nobody said they were pro polluting rivers.

Just shutting down coal power plants, not drilling North Sea oil, shutting down nuclear power plants, not opening more nuclear power plants. Things like that are insane.

You know because the laws of supply and demand affect price. Economics that is based on more than give me a handout.

If you loony lefty greenies get your way god help us, the state will be in, because your policies are beyond stupid. No wonder all main far left experiments have ended up with millions dead from famine or persecution.

The hate and dehumanisation of Tories is a disgrace as well. How very progressive.

Nope.

It was caused by Truss, and her budget that crashed the economy from day one.

We have one of the worst performing economies in the developed world. The war, and the pandemic has impacted the globe, some countries are dealing with it better than others.
