Went out for a pizza the other night and was saddened to see the prices had risen again in all the local independent takeaways.
Cheapest I could find was £12.50 for a 12” pizza. At Dominos it was £10 for 13.5”
It’s a trend I’m seeing across several industries. I’ve been trying to shop locally for tools and I don’t mind paying an extra 10% or so, but most of the time the local shops can’t even give me a price. They complain they’ve got to spend £30k+ on stock so they can still make a profit, so it’s not worth it. I can get almost everything I need tools wise off Amazon these days.
This isn’t sustainable. It feels like everything we buy and consume will eventually be owned by 4 or 5 big companies.
