Nope.

It was caused by Truss, and her budget that crashed the economy from day one.

We have one of the worst performing economies in the developed world. The war, and the pandemic has impacted the globe, some countries are dealing with it better than others.

The Ukraine war isn’t the Tories fault.
The global pandemic isn’t the Tories fault.
The budget from Truss was a disaster true, but that didn’t lead to double digit inflation.

I believe countries like France handled it a lot better due to nuclear power stations, we have suffered more due to a higher reliance on natural gas(we benefitted from cheaper energy when times were good)

If energy prices go through the roof everything is affected, that’s one of the reasons why the green agenda like just stop oil is insane, same as provoking Russia into a war was insane.

France appeared to handle it better for the population, not due to nuclear power but because the government capped the price that the consumer paid.
They did some deal with the energy companies to shield the consumer.
We have inflation here, supermarket food prices especially jave shown a big increase.

You missed out Brexit and £170 billion quantitive easing that was needed to prop up the country. Its why we are suffering more than other comparative countries. Also, the limp wristed response to Putin invasion of Crimea by us and west in general, not to mention an attack by the Russian state on UK soil by poisoning and our pathetic sanctions, just encouraged Putin to go further.

Nobody said they were pro polluting rivers.

Just shutting down coal power plants, not drilling North Sea oil, shutting down nuclear power plants, not opening more nuclear power plants. Things like that are insane.

You know because the laws of supply and demand affect price. Economics that is based on more than give me a handout.

If you loony lefty greenies get your way god help us, the state will be in, because your policies are beyond stupid. No wonder all main far left experiments have ended up with millions dead from famine or persecution.

The hate and dehumanisation of Tories is a disgrace as well. How very progressive.
I'll bite. When all the oil runs out in 50 years, what's the big plan then?

Nuclear power would negate that issue? We need a mixture of renewable and nuclear.

I do agree we should have a long term plan to come off fossil fuels.

Brexit none factor really, main issues are clearly caused by the war in Ukraine, and pandemic. Mainly the war in Ukraine.

How about looking a little further back and why Russia took Crimea. I’d highly recommend looking into John Mearsheimer. Multiple excellent lectures available.

I personally don’t support the war, there could and should have been peace, we need peace now. I don’t want to contribute a penny towards it. Never mind thousands and thousands a year in extra costs for something that’s totally avoidable.

The Ukraine war has cost every adult in the UK £1000 according to the Guardian with regard to energy(I suspect it’s more, and it’s not including fuel). That was in February 2023 it’ll be more now. God knows what food inflation is.

And with the large amount of new nuclear power plants built what's your solution to the rapidly enlarged amount of nuclear waste that will be produced?

With the modern power stations, there's a lot less waste. Do not forget that most of the UK legacy waste is from having nuclear power as a bit of a side interest in our nuclear industry with a heavy interest in being able to create a nuclear arsenal.

Not that's there anything wrong with wanting to take part in destroying the planet...

That's true but also factor in the scale involved with replacing fosssil fuel with nuclear energy. The amount of waste will rise significantly. These anti clean energy types just always want it to be the next generation's issue.

Nuclear fusion is the answer, we are not there yet but will be in the not too distant future…….
