I said somewhere earlier in this thread that it’s very funny that lots seem to be of the opinion that everyone else is either over or under-reacting, while they are reacting in the precisely appropriate way.
I tend not to comment on these things as you'll inevitably get those that deem themselves experts based on what they have read or watched on the TV.
Simply put no one knows anything right now hence why testing is essential.
1000 people in the UK have died so far with about 17,000 diagnosed.
Looking at it from a scientific perspective - if only 17,000 in the country have COVID-19 then its terrfying as basically 1 in 17 people coming into contact with the virus will die from it statistically.
However if 2.5 million in the UK have COVID-19 yet "only" 1000 have died then suddenly that changes the outlook of things for everyone - not just in terms of your statistical chance of dying from this thing but how many folk can arguably be let back out into public/work/normal life under the assumption that they are now "immune".
Thats the point many can not see which is why we need testing given to every person in this country its absolutely vital for us to be able to see what we are dealing with here - right now we are throwing punches in the dark.
