Thats my feelings at the moment - until the antibody tests are given to the general public we cant tell how devastating this thing is.

Any death is obviously a tragedy but deaths are inevitable with illness its determining how deadly this thing actually is in comparison to how many it infects before we have a clearer picture of how long this pandemic is likely to last for.

If hundreds of thousands of people die, it is devastating whatever the hell the fatality rate is.

People's generosity in times of need.

"A crowdfunder to raise money for personal protective equipment in British hospitals has reached £400,000.

The fundraising effort was launched by a group of NHS doctors and a GP to source PPE “for those who need it the most”. The group originally set a £200,000 target, but this was met in 48 hours.

According to the crowdfunder, actor James McAvoy made a large contribution, with the group behind the fundraiser thanking him for his “extraordinary generosity”.

It depends on the infection rate - if millions of people have had it and the death rate drops from 5-7% to say 0.5-1% whilst still awfully horrific it could be "worse".

Im sure I read in 2018 anywhere from 35,000-80,000 people in the USA alone died of seasonal flu yet no one panicked as it wasnt all over the news 24/7.

Simply put at this stage there is one side that believes the world is coming to an end and another that believes its overblown.

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle hence why we need to start seeing widespread testing asap to give us more information on what we are looking at.

Why does it take this to provide PPE, brilliant though it is.....Our 'government" should have had this covered from the start.

That “side” doesn’t include doctors and nurses in emergency rooms seeing patients up close and comparing it to their normal levels so I’d going to side with them that it isn’t overblown and stay inside tbh.

Bless your heart

Because walking around a national park is automatically easier to walk around than a village? I just think it’s ludicrous people have to drive anywhere to walk somewhere; completely defeats the object of walking.
Stop being a total [Poor language removed] mate. You'll be old yourself one day.

As I said some of these older guys are scared and rightly so.
