No.

Italy looked like they may have done a few days back, but it's proved otherwise.

Italy seems to have plateaued on "New Cases Per Day".

Assuming they havn't changed how they're testing, it'll be a few days before we know if they've actually peaked on that measure or not.

For obvious reasons, any peak in "Daily Deaths" will lag behind "New Cases" though.

I don't think they're far off it but I think there's a testing bottleneck going on to explain that figure sadly, rather than a diminishing actual rate.

I think they're about a week or two away from peaking, and only then because of lockdown measures.

We were 14 days behind a week ago, and we've extended that to 16 days behind over the last week.

Today however takes us closer to 15 days behind rather than extending it further. It's a big jump.

Realistically, around 11-13 April, we'll be looking at around 1000 deaths a day before the lockdown starts to bear fruit.

April 15 will be the peak; it is already the day of disasters as we all know.

I also think mass testing at this point is proper pointless as well. Why mass test whilst we’re only at the start of the virus? You could just get it a few days after the test anyway.

I mean yeah you would be, but the police can only enforce the regs.

Yea, I know. In theory, they can enforce the "one exercise a day" because that's covered in law ( whereas I doubt the "exercise near home" is yet ), but, in reality, until we move to a system like Greece and France, it's just in place because the vast majority will abide by it.

So you get an understanding of the asymptomatic and can therefore judge how the trajectory of the thing will go.

Testing is legitimately the number one thing any country can do to combat this at any time - the importance of it can't be understated. Both actual tests to see if you have it as well as a comprehensive antigen and antibody testing system.

they need to know who has had it, especially in the NHS as it will considerably reduce the risk if they can staff Coronavirus wards with medical staff who are immune

Germany only reporting 399 deaths from 53,000 confirmed cases.

Is that just because they were only counting deaths which weren't related to underlying conditions?

I know they're better than us and introduced the lockdown quicker too, but surely they haven't been able to keep it that low?

100% spot on.

Anyone who went out that night, as said, needs punching.

And to be honest any landlord that opened that night needs punching too.

Disgusting behaviour that would have cost thousands upon thousands of lives.

you must be great company......

I feel rough mate. Still showing high temp.
My youngest seems a lot brighter and his temp has dropped, but this is probably the Calpol.
( Any lids with young kids, I'd try and get a bottle or two of Calpol in if I was you. )

Read today that WHO have confirmed from all their research that kids are doing a lot better than this than adults, mate, if that helps at all!
