That's not the same as some posters trying to score polictical points etc as I stated there is a political thread for this subject put it in there ok if its a general comment, but polictical point scoring on this thread is not on imo - hence a thread has been put on by @COYBL25 for anything really politically critical -
Simply just use that - if its just a mild comment no problem, but if it gets to political use the thread that's there for anyone to vent their anger .... Staying alive is more important imo as it's a killer pandemic we are discussing on this thread .....

Scoring points isn’t on, but some on the right here have been really quick to try and shut down any discussion by saying it’s political and therefore disrespectful.

Look at the frankly bizarre bit earlier where suggesting Farage was wrong was politicising it, whereas saying he was right wasn’t.

What about Germany? Have they not started to recede?

No. All that's happened in Germany is that they've tested massively and therefore caught in their net a lot of mildly symptomatic or asymptomatic people. Their death rate is spiking over the last few days.

All that happened with Germany was they were a week or so behind us in terms of infection rate and/or it hit a different portion of their populace first.

That said, the German figures are more likely to be an actual reflection of what this virus is - the death rate is indeed nowhere near 8% of whatever it is in Italy; it's actually going to be 0.5-1% but a lot of people aren't being tested for it in the likes of the UK because we're only testing those severe enough to be hospitalised with it.

The lockdown was not announced until the Monday. The government said pubs could stay open until normal closing time on the Friday......

Johnson gave the press conference on the friday at about a quarter past 5.

He said pubs should close as soon as they could. And that anyone thinking about heading out should stay inside.

Anyone who went out that night was daft and any bar who milked it by staying open until 11.59pm was reckless IMO.

Boris clearly implored them to close as soon as possible on the Friday and also clearly asked the public not to go out on that night.

Doing so was reckless arsehole behaviour.

100% spot on.

Anyone who went out that night, as said, needs punching.

And to be honest any landlord that opened that night needs punching too.

Disgusting behaviour that would have cost thousands upon thousands of lives.

Italy and Spain have both peaked. The absolute number of new daily cases may seem large but that is because the existing number is also large. In terms of geometric growth they are both seem to be past the peak and the percentage growth per day is slowing.

Just looked at the graphs, you may be right....
