Really, really dangerous misreporting this - Something i'd expect from the Mail Online but not a respected paper like the Guardian

At this point can't help feeling that the media are spreading fear rather than information

It's nothing new from our media mate. At a time when we need calm amongst the population the media are the last people we should be listening too.

Can't put the telly on without ITV pushing some sort of 'How scared should we be of the Coronavirus' junk

People know what they need to do - You saturating the airwaves with this is making people anxious

I've literally stopped reading or listening (apart from this thread) to everything about the virus mate and as you said "people know what they need to do" because you only have to look at the pics of deserted streets and people adhering to protocol at the supermarkets to see this.

I'm just spending my day watching stuff on telly that makes me laugh, and of course listening to a bit of Lou Reed, though my missus calls Lou Reed stuff depressing!

Same here. Talksport has been an unexpected source of much enjoyment.

And they're doing it under the pretence that they're trying to hammer home the severity of the situation to younger people. The dreadful Kay Burley was on and on at Gove the other day trying to get him to give her a juicy headline figure of estimated overall deaths, just to make a good headline. I'm no fan of Gove but she was badgering on and on about it when she could surely have got more useful information out of him which might have proved useful for people. It's lazy, dangerous misreporting as you say.

I would thing the anger will only grow. Reading about Barca yesterday asking the players to take a pay cut and them refusing. Now going from £200-400,000 per week down to £100-200,000 per week is not exactly going on the breadline. There may well be a few bubbles pricked by the end of all this....
I agree. Some reevaluation of the price we put on certain jobs and services may take place too. Instead of swallowing the blandishments of politicians about NHS funding or social housing for instance perhaps the public will start holding them to account.
