Nope, we're still pretty much exactly 16 days behind Italy. It's been extended by 2 days over the last week.

16 days ago Italy had 1015 deaths.

I mainly agree with your point, but some people (like me) are still going out to work because they have a useless employer who uses the loophole of 'essential to travel for work' because we're not on the list stopping us from going out. Bigger ditherer than Moyes my boss. My work is by no means essential, I'd rather be holed up at home on 80% pay.

I'm in exactly the same boat as this mate. People at our work with chronic ashtma being instructed to come in as well. Some people are gonna look back at themselves in a few weeks and be totally shamed

They had the balls to create the virus and not tell anybody about it in the first place. I reckon fibbing about death rates counts as a little white lie for the Chinese government

The government is central to what is going on, or more like the damaging mistakes they're making that is costing lives, and making the work of front line staff harder to do their jobs.. But it appear some don't want to hear how much of a dangerous cock up this government is making.

The first confirmed case in Italy and UK was one day apart 29th jan Italy and 30th Jan UK

We were 14 days behind a week ago, and we've extended that to 16 days behind over the last week.

Today however takes us closer to 15 days behind rather than extending it further. It's a big jump.

Realistically, around 11-13 April, we'll be looking at around 1000 deaths a day before the lockdown starts to bear fruit.
