Mate, didn't know you were in the health service. My sincere gratitude for what you do. Thankfully my daughter is coming through being positive and my wife still negative- both nurses. You are heroes!

Cheers pal, sure do! Really sorry to hear about the girls, sounds very worrying & stressful, hope all will be/is ok!

Got the tap on the shoulder myself last month, did well enough to dodge it for as long as I did, thankfully bar a couple of days of aches and fatigue I was fine and I’m hoping the girls will be to. ;)

To be honest, I never really worried about myself, its amazing how used you get to the risk, it was more bringing it home that was the biggest stress, especially in the early days, for me anyway.

WHO criticises Ireland UK and others for moving too quickly to lift restrictions. In recent weeks my daughter who is a nurse, my sister, my niece have tested positive with one being hospitalised with pneumonia.

This new strain is worse than Omicron. We are not out of this pandemic by any means.

Btw our Taoiseach is stuck in the USA having tested positive. Will this bring some reality to our Government?

I am hardly moving from home except for essential shopping. Really annoyed at so many not wearing masks. Thankfully my wife and I still negative.

Yes I want to get back to normal asap but this is reckless behaviour starting with our leaders.

I won't start on UK's PM

And you shouldn’t start on the U.K. PM, because we are doing ok and for the great majority of people life is back to normal……

Met up with some friends at the weekend. 2 of which recently had covid and have all kinds of risk factors including asthma, recent recovery from cancer, fatty liver, obesity, heart issues etc. It absolutely knocked both of them sideways but now they are both fully recovered and in top form.

Just thought I'd post it in case it offers encouragement to those that might have it at the moment and are worried/anxious.

They are both fully vaxxed including booster obviously.

Yep and to add to that I had it the other week along with two friends and we're all fine now too. None of us were particularly bad with it either, though no underlying issues and all mid 30s

Yeah at the start he may well have been sincere, but he is definitely pandering to certain type of audience now, the grift has got him
Maybe he’s realised where his market is going forward. Didn’t watch his stuff at the beginning but sounds as though it was largely just going through the stats coming out. As that has become less interesting he seems to have pivoted to the grift. Early warning signs were his love of Ivermectin and the rubbish he was spouting about that.

You have to remember to some extent he has stumbled upon this. He isn’t an epidemiologist. By peddling the crazy stuff he keeps himself very relevant to a very dedicated bunch of loons

This twitter thread is certainly interesting. Guessing they have a pretty robust hospital infrastructure over there to be able to do this, though I do wonder what's happening to those in less affluent areas

Tony Holohan stepping down as Irish CMO and heading for academia in Trinity..my Alma mater.

This man has been through hell for two years, including the death of his wife. Nevertheless he has been a rock of sense throughout this crisis.

I worked with Tony in the Department of Health from 2001 to 2006 when he was Deputy CMO. Huge respect for him. I wish him the very best in the future.

One of the most honest people I have ever met.

Respect to the lad and sorry about his wife but can't agree with the honesty part

Mate we can agree to differ. In the last few weeks my daughter, sister and niece have tested positive. I feel rubbish myself but so far negative.

Tony is one of the most honest people I have ever worked with. He says it as he sees it and has a huge intellect.
