I wonder how they will enforce it during the day? They won't be pulling everyone over I'd imagine for being on the road. So people can technically still travel about in a car.

In fact generally , can't see them doing anything unless you are walking around town during the day like a tit. Come nightfall then sure , much easier to pull people over and deal with them.
Here in France, also in Spain I'm told, roadblocks on roads in and out of town. Have an authentic reason for being there, and ID or get a big on the spot fine.
Get used to it.

So.

My big question is how are they going to enforce it?

Are they expecting empty roads from now on? Especially of a night? Like if it was around 12 o clock will they just on the spot fine people for being out?

I'm sure there is measures in place police wise but curious how they will enforce it.
They cannot enforce it can they? So what if someone is out around midnight and they get stopped, they can just say they are on the way home from a late shift. God knows what they discussed in that meeting.

we still aren't expanding the testing regime, it seems

disgrace is not strong enough a word

Totally agree.

I suppose the positive is that though the cases will definitely be higher (worldwide) than we have for confirmed cases, the deaths won't be too much higher in comparison.

It may mean the mortality rate isn't as bad as feared, at least.

Without testing there is just no way to know.

For example, I've just found out someone I met on March 6 has been self-isolating for the last 10 days.

What do I do now? He apparently has just had a bad cough and a bit of aches felt lethargic etc.

So 10 days since is March 13. Do I need to self isolate cause I saw him a week before? I haven't got a clue. I've felt fine and shown no symptoms?

many more cops in France and Spain than here though, and they already have ID

So many holes in his statement it's ridiculous, it needs to be foolproof right now not this tosh.
No work unless you are a key worker or working from home, no going out unless you are going for essentials. Take the power out the hands of the employers who will not shut until they absolutely have to leaving employees not wanting to risk their jobs and going in.

Does seem a bit silly, if you are on your way to Tesco for the 9th time tomorrow and stopped by a bobby you just just have to say your on the way to or from work, no muss no fuss.

What are they gonna do?

There is nothing to do.

The playgrounds, parks, restaraunts, pubs and every shop other than supermarkets/pharmacists are shut.

Police/extra security are on hand at supermarkets now in the busiest ones.

There is absolutely no reason to be out other than exercise.
They all remain open, families will be going out, yoofs will still be gathering. I will be happy to be proven wrong but no way are there enough police to disperse crowds at nature spots, beaches, parks etc all around the country. Let's see.

That will be the next one I'm sure. It's a tightening of the noose (so I'm baffled why people are crying for it to be tighter - unless they want hanging on their own rope?).

The testing thing has been obvious for some time now. I can only guess we don't have the capacity. Needs to be a priority if we want to head towards some sort of normality.

That you can only guess at that shows what a complete failure the political media have been in this crisis. Why aren't we testing more is a question that I haven't heard once at these press conferences, even though its pretty bloody relevant.
