Millions of people went to work in London today. Not thousands.

Yes. And so why have the tubes been cut down for over a week?

Companies and people have now been given a very clear instruction. If you can operate remotely – which every business in the country should be able to other than the vital ones which are still open should be able to – you must do so.

No meetings of over two people outside but yes, you can still go to work with tens, maybe even hundreds of other people

Tory bluffer

No C. He said clearly you shouldn't be going unless it is absolutely necessary and can't be done from home.

How this is implemented - well, companies keeping their offices open should be fined. It's 2020. There's no need that these business where it's just sales or whatever shouldn't be set up to work remotely.

So, what he’s just said doesn’t work then P? Glad we cleared that up

We’re going to see those inevitable scenes in Supermarkets tonight aren’t we.

Surprised the UK having taken this step, it’s only a couple of days since they closed pubs that’s a quick escalation.

Something you suspect has triggered the quick turn around from normal life, herd immunity, social distancing to lock down, its been quite the 360 trajectory for the UK.

Oh I have plenty of criticisms. Plenty.

Now we're in lockdown for three weeks. People still aren't happy. People have been screaming and crying to be locked inside their own houses. It's weird. Now they've got it - allowed out once a day. Welcome to 1984 lads. Enjoy it.

On your point in bold. God knows.

Surely when all this goes back to 'normal' there's gonna be a huge second wave of infection?

Although, as of Friday I believe the government's plan was to turn it on and off like a tap - i.e. restrict and then open up, then restrict, open up. Whether that's still the plan I don't know.

Aye thats what I had read aswell but if the busybodies are unhappy with Morrisons being rammed God knows what they are going to moan about if Boris dares open up pubs and restaurants in 3-4 weeks time.

I think they need to be open with the population- if this thing can only be stopped by everyone getting it then tell us or if they think lockdowns will finish off numbers then likewise.

It seems we are just blindly following China who I wouldnt trust if they told me it was Monday.

Still refusing to close non essential companies, therefore people will be forced to go to work. Inconsistent and incoherent.

To ensure compliance with the Government’s instruction to stay at home, we will immediately:

  • close all shops selling non-essential goods, including clothing and electronic stores and other premises including libraries, playgrounds and outdoor gyms, and places of worship;
  • we will stop all gatherings of more than two people in public – excluding people you live with;
  • and we’ll stop all social events, including weddings, baptisms and other ceremonies, but excluding funerals.

Where I live (province of Ontario) they just announced the closing of all non-essential services and businesses for two weeks. Thankfully that doesn't include the beer or liquor stores.

Which bunch?

I'm sorry. I'm refusing to blame the government for people being utterly, utterly, thick and selfish.

This gov have a lot to answer for. Thick people being thick and flooding to beaches when they've been given plenty of advice not to do so is not one of them.

I blame the government for making up their own medical advice (contrary to nearly every other country) and letting it get this far - along woth not testing and providing proper equipment to peolle on the front line.

I blame the absolute selfish morons for treating a partial lockdown as an effing bank holiday.
