Sorry, think you misread the chart we discussed earlier, and I misread your response - the blue (~75%) line is due to Covid symptoms and the red is the incidental admissions.
All these graphs blow my mind tbh

yeah I'm not happy about it, meant the sarcastic lol oneDid you put the wrong emoji in by mistake there?
Or Henderson probably does just have a cold.So there is basically zero faith in the testing system?
Well I did get it, my symptoms initially were achy body and a headache and then a sore throat. Ended up being in bed for 3 days, just kept sleeping then lost me smell and taste and couldn't eat anything. Gladly my taste is back now and I'm eating again.Thank you. She has had a nap this afternoon and now she says she feels almost back to normal. Bless, She is made of stern stuff and I have already warned her if I get it that it will be the super variant when it wipes me out for 2 days. ?
Not sure too many need to in because of a common cold so a fair bit different but agree it's a numbers game.Or Henderson probably does just have a cold.
People aren't getting it with Omicron I don't think. There are literally no distinguishing features, at all, between Omicron and a common cold. The symptoms are precisely the same, even down to how long you're 'ill' for (3-4 days tops).
The issue really is with Delta still very prevalent, the pressure on the NHS could be too much with additional people needing to go in due to Omicron
Glad to hear you are on the mend at least!Well I did get it, my symptoms initially were achy body and a headache and then a sore throat. Ended up being in bed for 3 days, just kept sleeping then lost me smell and taste and couldn't eat anything. Gladly my taste is back now and I'm eating again.
What was odd is that neither my wife or I developed any problems with breathing.
Why would you need to go to hospital with a common cold though?Or Henderson probably does just have a cold.

The symptoms of Omicron are the common cold symptoms mate. Not saying for some people it wouldn't be worse but with previous covid strains there have been distinguishing features like loss of taste/smell, persistent cough, really draining fatigue etc. Not in this case. Not sure too many need to in because of a common cold so a fair bit different but agree it's a numbers game.
Because for some people it might well lead to worse illness. Even if it's just a case of them being in hopsital for a day or so it could still be a bed taken up etcWhy would you need to go to hospital with a common cold though?
But isn't that just normal life? And what has happened every single winter?Because for some people it might well lead to worse illness. Even if it's just a case of them being in hopsital for a day or so it could still be a bed taken up etc
It hopefully wouldn't. The likelihood if you're double vaccinated is very low. The likelihood if you're boosted is very, very low.
it is indeed to an extent, but you've got Omicron and common colds going around and then Delta still prevelant. But isn't that just normal life? And what has happened every single winter?
Fair comment. The way I read it didn't quite add up. I think there's a real danger we underestimate it and downplay it too much. The symptoms of Omicron are the common cold symptoms mate. Don't worry - i'm not some sort of nutter that's going to go postal if I don't agree with somebody! It's all about discussion reallyit is indeed to an extent, but you've got Omicron and common colds going around and then Delta still prevelant.
If Omicron replaces Delta - which it has in SA - then really it should be okay. But right now the UK has both strains very prominent.
I'm not supportive of any lockdown restrictions, btw.
yeah I'm not looking to downplay it but by the same token there is a real danger we overestimate it and have people shut away for basically a cold mateFair comment. The way I read it didn't quite add up. I think there's a real danger we underestimate it and downplay it too much.
