Advice needed:

I am in between moving homes with my GF and we have moved back separately to our parents in the meantime we have been seeing each other, should we stop this now?

Thanks

Honestly? I would.

You can still find fun ways to interact online and be in constant contact if that's your thing - just remember that you can carry the virus without showing symptoms, so you could be putting both sets of parents at risk.

It's better to overreact and look silly than to carry on as normal and risk serious consequences.

Mate of mine works for Kingspan (office based). They've all been denied permission to WFH (even though their jobs can and have been done at home) because "the VPN wouldn't handle it" (GET A BETTER VPN) while having their pay cut by 40% across the board.
Kingspan are awful people to work for.

Partially closing the Tube down was a daft idea - just before I got ill I went to Hendon on the Northern Line and at 8am on a Monday morning it was virtually empty. All restricting services has done is make the ones that are running busier.

Could there be an issue with safely staffing all the lines? Not including those who we see on the trains and platforms there is no doubt a huge amount of unseen logistical or mechanical work that needs doing everday to keep things running. Doesn't take a massive spike in absence to really affect those things.

This is my first day of educating my granddaughter at home, we’ve done English, Spelling, Maths, P.E (nearly did me in) Story Time and Art. We’ve now got videos about the Romans and then Reading to do, then we are done. I’m knackered but it’s been great fun......similar tomorrow....

Just play her the graffiti scene from Life Of Brian and that'll cover all bases.

This London Tube looks mental. Why in Gods name have they reduced services thus cramming everyone in. Either put it back to normal or cut it completely....

i’d think staffing is certainly an issue as well , I can’t imagine the underground is the only area to escape that problem

We look back and dismiss people from bygone ages with such a superior attitude but I'm willing to bet that if cavemen where told by their chieftain to stay in their cave or risk catching/spreading a deadly disease they'd of bloody well done it!

The maths on this thing is absolutely terrifying.

With "regular" flu, each infected person infects roughly 1.28 additional people. So after 10 "rounds" of infection, 1 person is "responsible" for ~1600 cases of flu. Of those 1600 cases, there's likely to be 1-2 deaths.

With coronavirus, each infected person infects ~3 additional people. The total number (after 10 rounds of transmission) is ~786,000

Or to put it another way... 15,700 people dead.
