well, not every state. My friend lives in Hamburg, said some people there don't care really, still going to parks etc. He is furious. A relative from Mannheim though said nobody goes outside, instructions are being followed to the letter. So it depends on the region, they are not perfect either

In Ireland, traffic lights are more of a rough guideline for crossing the road, most of us just weave in between lanes of moving vehicles until we reach the other side. I tried pulling that in Berlin and was tag teamed by a cyclist and a granny who just started shouting at me and the missus until we went back and waited for the light in silent shame

Opps, might have spoken too soon, they just updated the numbers to 608 new cases and 5 deaths, will stop updating with numbers for now because it seems the numbers are changing during the day (i thought they all are like Italy updating once per day)
was gonna say, their public health body said there were some delays in some regions forwarding their results over the weekend

IKR. I've been all over Germany while interrailing back in the day, overall very disciplined folks like robots/soldiers, deserve that cliche of a label. my point was more like it is not all of them

The German public has an uncanny ability to follow instructions from authority to the letter that is lacking (for better or worse) in almost every other European culture (maybe the Dutch...).

If they say "Stay inside, keep distance from people, do not congregate" Then they'll do it. The mad thing is their cafes and restaurants were open until Friday as well.
The Dutch? Wouldn't count on that tbh. Imo, we're probably the less likely to adapt to and follow the government rules and guidelines of all EU countries. Government send out a national alert yesterday to ask people to please stay at home and don't go visiting crowded places like parks and beaches. Police were forced to close access roads to beachresorts like Zandvoort.

What if all of those people on the tube are heading into work because they dont have the ability to work from home and their employers have ordered them in?

Germans can control the amount of snot they release into the atmosphere.

The Dutch do not like being told what to do
