Germany's numbers are unbelievable!

Friday's numbers (issued Friday, which actually means Thursday's numbers) 4528 new cases
Saturday 2516
Yesterday 2509
Today 31, Yup, thirty one!

Deaths also down from 24 to 16 to 10 to 0
It's only 10am today though isn't it? Is that a live total?

The lack of communication regarding the Construction Industry is most worrying. We're all still expected to work as normal.

My work aren't going to pull us and others off our sites cause the Main Contractor will through the book at us and we'll be liable for Damages etc.

The Main Contractors aren't going to shut their sites down either cause they'll fall foul to Damages from the Client/Developer, the Government need to intervene now. You've got 50-100+ people on every construction site, all working on top of each other or within a close distance of each other and it clearly goes against ever single guideline they've put out there.

Luckily, im only a Trainee QS so can work from home, but only when the site is open. Its the lads on site i feel sorry for, we've got to handover our works on Plaza 1821 on the Waterfront on Wednesday, so the lads are working like dogs but putting their own health at risk to get it done. Shabite.

And @Jay unless it has changed over the weekend (which it may well have done) they were only counting deaths of those people with underlying health issues (so not just elderly people etc)

Like I said that could have changed and those numbers going down is obviously a huge positive!

I'm helping out my former employers (a construction contractor) today and tomorrow for a bit of extra cash.

God knows the stress they're going through. I'm heading into the office (though most people are working from home) but I know they've got two jobs running atm with loads of guys on each site.

People have not been told they can't leave their homes. If that's what needs to happen then maybe people should be told?

People have been told to socially distance themselves if they HAVE to go out. Not counting exercise of course, which you should be able to look out your window and see if there is one hundred people you are about to come into near contact with - if so wait for a quieter period. There will be a time for a total lockdown but the message is pretty clear.

What if all of those people on the tube are heading into work because they dont have the ability to work from home and their employers have ordered them in?

I'm not saying it is easy, but you have to find alternatives. If you could see the virus would you then get on the train? You wouldn't. Because people can't see something they are risking not only their lives but everyone they come into contact thereafter. It isn't worth it. If you go for the train and you can get a carriage where there are 10 people great, if you know it is going to be rampacked then you have to break that chain. We are not cattle and we can luckily think for ourselves to find safer ways.
