How about, how long would you be prepared to accept restrictions for, a year, five years, forever ?
We were all told get doubled jabbed and you`ll be sorted, then it changed to you need to get triple jabbed and you`ll be sorted. Then lo and behold a new variant came along and they`re now talking about a load more restrictions again and possibly a fourth jab, to combat the new variant.
What happens when the next " new " variant comes along after this one, possibly a fifth jab and a load more restrictions and on and on it goes.
We can`t carry on living like this.
I was out with my crazy mate, who didn`t come out for the best part of 18mths and he`s talking about locking him and his family away again. This is what it`s doing to people.
Again, the fact this virus exists and poses the risk that it does means that we have to deal with it - so yes, when the variants keep coming we will keep having to do something about them. I know its difficult for people, it was difficult for people in wartime too but burying your head in the sand is useless.
To suggest it's a lack of staff driving mental health problems is frankly ridiculous, people had to jump through hoops to get treatment for cancers etc which has caused lots of deaths, all due to restrictions not a lack of staff. Hospitals on the whole have coped throughout the pandemic, even the early stages. Those mega nightingale's never even getting used and are now disbanded, would they have done that if hospitals were at breaking point?
The Nightingale hospitals didn't have the staff to run them, that is why they weren't used. As for mental health, what I said is backed up by the BMA and numerous other sources; why do you think those restrictions were brought in anyway?
