How? The vaccines aren't stopping infection.. close the schools? That's lockdown as parents have to stay home if the children are there, and then the vunerable are being locked down anyway.

But the details were in the Reuters article she linked that were quoting a public health physician. I would be utterly delighted if it was fake news or that it was misinterpreted mind.

I used her tweets because they were a quick (and on my reading an accurate) summary of the Reuters article that was easier to post than copying and pasting that article after I read it. I did not look at any of the other tweets on the account.
In the future I will try not to take that shortcut and will link the article directly for accounts I am not familiar with for the avoidance of all confusion.
If you reduce overall infection in one cohort, you break the chain of infection, one hand feeds the other, it’s systemic.
Everyone always jumps to extreme, I didn’t suggest closing schools, I suggested them finishing for Xmas break earlier and going back later. That would dampen down the chain at the mid point in winter, a circuit break for the younger cohort. At the same time the vaccine rollout for under 22 begins and I don’t think proper ventilation is out the question to provide given what we are spending on Covid. Three things that could happen that would dampen the raging fire we are seeing in children and secondary infection and break the chain.

If they close schools early for Christmas then they won't reopen for months so any suggestion of that is a non runner, you know full well if they close on say the Friday before they are due to close then come the end of the holidays you'll have Tony the ego Hohohan on a semi telling the government that they need to stay closed as case numbers are too high..
