Here everyone is vaccinated and cases are still rampant.

Of course. Lockdown the country don't allow anybody in and you can't get any new variants.
Probs everybody will have had alpha/delta at some point no matter what the stats say. Lock it all down and nothing can get through.

Why are they being cancelled though? There is absolutely nothing to suggest the hospitality industry needs to shut down again. If that happens there will rightly be carnage.

I'm just guessing but I think some companies like to be ahead of restrictions so they're already making cancellations before more restrictions possibly come in?

Some companies are likely seeing the media call for further restrictions and they then make a decision as they're protecting their staff.

3 people for me and those have all been in the last 5mths which when I talk to roughly 50 people a week and not always the same 50 over the last 18mths the figures don't add up. And, those 2 people we poorly but never went to hospital and 2 of them had been double jabbed. Even so, I have followed all the guidelines, had 3 jabs and still work from home apart from 1 day a week which I posted about earlier.

Just my personal experience of it all.

Pretty much both of them are saying they haven't got a clue yet which is useful. That's also my official position on the new variant - it could be worse or it could be better.

my point is not on the viability of lockdowns, but on the efficacy of vaccinations, which looks dubious at best.

im saying that because its clear even with lower death rates, the world is extremely uncomfortable with high case levels alone.
