Shouldnt do. Its a fact of life in any hospital with limited capacity that "decisions" are made. They will treat everyone, as best they can, obvs, but they also make choices. They have to.

@tsubaki quoted a poster who said that someone can take care of themselves and be unvaccinated, with Tsubaki replying that they hadn't looked after themselves.
All I pointed out was that the poster they quoted @joe1878 wasn't, I don't think, specifically referring to the vaccine there, they were stating that people can be live a very healthy lifestyle and look after themselves and be unvaccinated, that's all.
I wasn't getting involved in the debate about docs having to choose who to save or anything like that. Just that to me, someone who lives an extremely healthy lifestyle and is unvaccinated has probably done more to look after themselves than someone who is very unhealthy and is vaccinated. Obviously, ideally people should do both.

In the summer there was a waiting list of some 12 million treatments, so it seems plausible that even more operations are being cancelled due to the rise in Covid cases since then. That you think hospitals a) have nothing better to do than answer questions from random people off the street, and b) would give out such sensitive operational information to a nobody suggests you're rather more detached from reality than our anonymous anaesthetist.

Is this bloke's testimony reliable? I have no idea, but we have a number of people on here who have said they work either in managerial or clinical roles in the NHS, and as far as I'm aware, none have publicly disclosed their employer or staff ID number, and nor have there been calls to do so.

It’s not that I don’t believe him, but you can’t just say “oh I’m an anaesthetist and I have done this today”. If that’s the case then I’d imagine the public would like to know which hospital is stopping cancer patients having life saving surgery to deal with unvaccinated Covid patients. I don’t care who he is, there is no reason he can’t name the hospital or the hospital trust. How’s its sensitive info? He’s going to be telling hundreds of people they can’t have cancer surgery over the next week or so isn’t he, I’m sure it’ll be common knowledge If it’s true after all these cancer patients being left to suffer. I’m not putting a tin foil hat on, all’s I’m saying if you’re gonna put that in the public domain then you’re gonna get questioned. Possibly hence the shooting rates in Austria etc
Issue is, this is gonna happen everywhere all the time. I really do think this, everywhere, is going way overboard. Maybe better to be safe than sorry, like, so I get that. Germany are on the verge of completely shutting down in some places by the looks. Bavaria's PM today cancelling any big crowds, matches etc.
