Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Its as old fashioned as anything with a clean tea towel over your head with any menthol oil added to boiling water and you inhale the steam for clearing the airways - lungs in particular - with paracetamol perhaps a great idea late pm and mid am ....... daily - eyes might water a bit but yes it will do no harm - when that Sars was about my wife and daughter were ill for an age antibiotics the lot for weeks never touched it whatever they had, but the symptoms where Sars like - they did that for a week and it cleared away slowly a big improvement......3 GPs at the practice - the last one recommended that - an older GP ;)

A note of caution. Just because it cleared up when they started steaming that doesn't mean the steaming was responsible...they may have just been coming to the end of it anyway and that coincided with the steaming.

And I don't think a doctor is going to prescribe antibiotics for Covid-19. It's not a bacterial infection.

Youngest person to die from this in the UK was today, 18 years old my god, doesn’t bear thinking about. What a tragedy.

Condolences to their family, horrific.
Like I posted last night, I know of Uni students who are bang in trouble with this.

I haven't seen the story you mention yet though, selfishly hope it's not in Bristol.

Dread to think how many people, young and old, are out there with underlying conditions that they don't know of yet. Covid is gonna be a terrible way to found out about them.

Frightening stuff mate. It blows apart the narrative that it’s only the old or ill who are vulnerable to fatality, hopefully will make some Irresponsible out there think. .No report of an underlying health issue.

They went with a bad chest infectition when the Sars. Virus was around...... Read my post - it can help, it can do no harm itself - an old remedy for breathing problems.....
My very late wise Grandma used it on the family no NHS for most of her life .....

You're right, they shouldn't be. But we're in a situation with a virus that doesn't care whether people should or shouldn't be anything - it just spreads wherever possible.

The mollycoddled snowflakes aren't taking this seriously as nothing like this has ever happened in their lives. They can't comprehend it, clearly. As such, relying on the millennial generation and their even worse kids to be responsible on this isn't looking realistic - and I say that as a millennial.
well as a baby boomer, and somebody who could possibly be taken by this virus, I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise for stealing your livelihood

I’m not in anyway seeking to mitigate the seriousness but dealing with your last sentence over the underlying issues the linked article does say

“In England, 37 more people who tested positive for COVID-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths there to 257.

The patients were aged between 18 and 102 years old - thought to be the youngest and oldest so far.

They were all were in vulnerable groups, including with underlying health conditions”
