UK do a high amount but I’m not sure we do that many effective tests, as opposed to ramping the numbers up.
I think thats the thing with testing. All the figures are unreliable some countries count antigen testing/lateral flow, some countries only count PCR that’s why number of tests and positivity rates vary and are unreliable.
Over here an antigen/lateral flow test means nothing rightly or wrongly and our public health body are I think fair to say scathing of them and don’t trust them, though I think they have their uses and we under utilise them, if you test positive with one you just go for a PCR. But PCR is the only game in town here really, unless you want to reassure yourself before heading out.
Having said that we’re in crisis over here today, our testing system has basically shut down with demand. About an hour ago there where four appointments for a PCR test in the country - it’s gone bananas.
