UK has 2000 more in hospital with a similar sized population and a higher vax rate. They're doing better than the UK in that sense.
Comparing countries is utterly pointless waves are not in sync.. here in Ireland we've gone from lowest incident rate in Europe to highest and back again in a matter of months. What's the testing like? Countries who are testing more will find more cases that doesn't mean they have more cases just that other countries may not be finding cases. There are so many variables that comparison is an exercise in futility.

Add to that the political point scoring and agendas.

But we have more people in hospital with covid than Germany, France, Spain, Italy. That’s not testing numbers, that’s actual people being admitted to hospital.

In fairness everyone who enters a UK hospital is tested for covid and if they test positive they count as a covid patient. Many other nations aren't doing the same process.

Was the case in the Royal I believe? Might have changed but I thought all inpatients are tested.

I wasnt. A nurse said she might, but she didnt bother. That said, my condition was zero covid related. In fact, said nurse paid more attention to my DIY #2 haircut than anything else! "Do you want me to cut the bit you have missed?" she said, bless her.
