Its because its impractical by nature so you're paying good money to not enjoy yourself!

I get people wearing masks on public transport and in work/retail etc but everyone may as well just stay home if you have to wear masks everywhere for the rest of our lives.
So when you pay to be hung upside down by your balls in a gimp mask, what is that exactly?

I said wayyy back when restrictions were first eased that they jumped the gun with dropping the mask mandate. For me masks should've remained compulsory indoors for another 3-6 months at least.

Why? Wales has the worst case rate in the uk. France has similar hospital numbers to the uk.

The whole mask debate is tedious. France, held up on here as the great bastion for mask wearing has just under 7000 people in hospital, and I rising.

That's hardly any less than us.
Would it not be prudent to mention their COVID vaccination rate compared to our own as surely that's one of the key factors in lowering hospitalisation rate?

We're not far off 90% of the population having at least one dose and 80% having two or more doses. They're both mid 70%s for one or two doses.

With countries having similar populations, is it not a positive that they actually have a lower hospitalisation rate suggesting that mask wearing may benefit?

The UK has more daily COVID deaths too although admittedly I'm not an expert on how the French classify their figures. Still, surely that must be a positive?

France is also massive, and most of the country is isolated.

So of their hospital numbers are similar and population similar how can their numbers add up? Looking at them roughly 1000 a day going into hospital out of 5k cases.

The extra 10% vaccinated in the uk can't make up the difference.

UK has 2000 more in hospital with a similar sized population and a higher vax rate. They're doing better than the UK in that sense.

Is that down to masks though?

Or more likely they have better weather and now their cases will grow as rhen go back indoors. Their cases are rising again, same as Germany.

France, some figures today from the"tous anti covid " app.
Vaccinations. 49.68M or 86.5% of the population over 12y have had at least 2jabs.
New cases yesterday, 6528.
ic occupancy, all France, 6528 including 61 new admissions yesterday.
During the period 18/24oct, France had 54.2 new cases per 100k population.
UK had 488 newcases per 100k population.
Masks plus distancing plus health certificates plus vaccinations are all needed against this infection.

Cases going up then? A few days ago you were around 5k a day.

We have countries in the uk where masks and distancing are still law.... its not working.

I think come December us and France will be very diff. Ie we will be low and France high numbers

What happened to Sweden? We were seeing photos from IKEAs, where no ones wearing a mask. They are not doing too badly I reckon.

Cases up because of the tous saintes holiday period.
Much travelling around.
Just been to the market in our local town, loads of cars with ile de France plates and we're 400km South of Paris.
