Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Promising stuff re a booster shot, but Not sure that the right conclusion to draw is that it should have been a 3 dose vaccine.

The initial 2 shot study results showed 95% (ish) efficacy when compared to unvaccinated, so is it possible that this 3 dose study is just indicative of the reduced efficacy of 2 shots over time (says the median was 11 months after 2nd shot), and the 3rd shot could also wane in a similar manner?

Where’s the selfishness?

Well, to start with I’d point to all those insisting we “just learn to live with” hundreds of people dying a week, when the alternative to not having to do that consists of wearing masks in crowded spaces and being a bit sensible elsewhere.

Then there are all the people losing their minds because of XR, but specifically that most recent person in the black Discovery who almost ran them over.

Its never ending isn't it? We were told 2 jabs and you're all reet - now its wowzers these booster jabs pretty much eradicate you from getting ill with covid. Fast forward 6 months...

Yikesssss this 4th jab will see us out of lockdown yes siree lol

Perhaps a better way to phrase it is that the messaging should have been that, though the initial two shots gave fantastic protection, boosters might be required as Covid mutated and to keep the protection against symptomatic infection very high.

Reading this thread and elsewhere just feel a lot of people think the goalposts have been moved “I thought iif we just had the two jabs I could forget about it forever and go back to normal life”
