If it's 2 days before you "return" though, that would mean either the day of departure or the day before, no? Wouldn't that kinda defeat the point of the test in the first place?
Where did you see this? Is it just for UK residents, or foreign nationals as well? I'm planning to fly over to the UK in early November, and was under the understanding that I had to have a negative test prior to departure and one within 72 hours of arrival, which could supposedly all be easily arranged through my airline. I certainly don't mind to do the tests, but if they're about to scrap it, perhaps I should hold off on ordering the tests and maybe save myself a couple hundred dollars.sounds like the are scrapping the pre departure test for people flying into the UK for double vacced
There was something on R4 this morning. An announcement is being made today apparently.Where did you see this? Is it just for UK residents, or foreign nationals as well? Okay. Even if there's no announcement today, I'll probably hold off for a few more weeks just to see how things play out. As I think we've discussed in here before, the cost of testing for travel/leisure purposes seems a bit extortionate. There was something on R4 this morning. They're dropping amber lists. It's just going to be red or green. Of course, with this government, this can all be flip flopped on at the drop of a hat. Fully vaccinated people will not need PCR tests and will just require lateral flow tests.Okay. That would bring the care and health services to it's knees. I have a friend who works at a local hospital who is unvaxxed due to having fertility treatment and they have told me that there are huge numbers of unvaccinated hospital staff. Her entire department has refused to be vaccinated.3000 anti vax lunatics suspended from the health service in France.
How can you be on the front line in a pandemic and be anti vax? Mental.
The same needs to happen in the UK for all NHS staff and carehome staff too.

If the numbers mirror national trends then you would be firing up to 20% of the work force. Good luck with that.
Nobody knows. There's only been 30,000 reports related to it post vaccination, but that'd be a conspiracy theory right? The vaccine doesn't impact fertility?
If there is a legitimate reason for not getting vaccinated that would be fine but generally hospital staff should be vaccinated.
Agreed. It's the right thing to do. They are regularly coming into contact with vulnerable people.3000 anti vax lunatics suspended from the health service in France.

But they eat processed footSame in my missus`s hospital, there`s a good few that she works with, that won`t have it for one reason or another and these are people who`ve worked through the really bad stuff in hospitals too, so they are fully aware of the potential consequences.
The main reason seems to be " I`ve had it, so therefore I have some protection and I`m not putting something into my body, that we don`t know the long term consequences of "
