Yep, we’re in Greece currently and fly home on the 28th September so still have to order the Day 2 test, which we now wouldn’t have to do had it been a week later, after today’s announcement. We’re double jabbed, but giving £68 to CTM for a meaningless test just to return to Wales is a bit annoying, but we’d factored it in anyway. Thanks Drakeford.Where did you see this? Is it just for UK residents, or foreign nationals as well? I'm planning to fly over to the UK in early November, and was under the understanding that I had to have a negative test prior to departure and one within 72 hours of arrival, which could supposedly all be easily arranged through my airline. I certainly don't mind to do the tests, but if they're about to scrap it, perhaps I should hold off on ordering the tests and maybe save myself a couple hundred dollars.
Menstrual cycle has nothing to do with fertility. Woo, you learn something new every day.I believe the 30,000 refers to women reporting irregularities with their menstrual cycles, but nothing to do with fertility per se.
From what she has told me it is a hospital in Southampton that has the lowest proportion of unvaccinated staff. I understand that there are so many unvaccinated staff that they're looking at letting them just self certify themselves as exempt so they can just wave it all off.Same in my missus`s hospital, there`s a good few that she works with, that won`t have it for one reason or another and these are people who`ve worked through the really bad stuff in hospitals too, so they are fully aware of the potential consequences.
The main reason seems to be " I`ve had it, so therefore I have some protection and I`m not putting something into my body, that we don`t know the long term consequences of "
There could well be links between having the vaccine and short term changes in the menstrual cycle. However a lot of things, inckuding Covid itself or stress, can impact them so we need further research to determine exactly the impactMenstrual cycle has nothing to do with fertility. Menstrual changes have been reported after both mRNA and adenovirus vectored covid-19 vaccines,1 suggesting that, if there is a connection, it is likely to be a result of the immune response to vaccination rather than a specific vaccine component. Vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) has also been associated with menstrual changes.9 Indeed, the menstrual cycle can be affected by immune activation in response to various stimuli, including viral infection: in one study of menstruating women, around a quarter of those infected with SARS-CoV-2 experienced menstrual disruption.10![]()
Menstrual changes after covid-19 vaccination
A link is plausible and should be investigated Common side effects of covid-19 vaccination listed by the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) include a sore arm, fever, fatigue, and myalgia.1 Changes to periods and unexpected vaginal bleeding are not listed, but...www.bmj.com
Biologically plausible mechanisms linking immune stimulation with menstrual changes include immunological influences on the hormones driving the menstrual cycle11 or effects mediated by immune cells in the lining of the uterus, which are involved in the cyclical build-up and breakdown of this tissue.12 Research exploring a possible association between covid-19 vaccines and menstrual changes may also help understand the mechanism.
And since catching Covid whilst pregnant has very significant risk factors that is leading to tragic consequences as @DrEFC can attestAlthough reported changes to the menstrual cycle after vaccination are short lived, robust research into this possible adverse reaction remains critical to the overall success of the vaccination programme. Vaccine hesitancy among young women is largely driven by false claims that covid-19 vaccines could harm their chances of future pregnancy.13 Failing to thoroughly investigate reports of menstrual changes after vaccination is likely to fuel these fears. If a link between vaccination and menstrual changes is confirmed, this information will allow people to plan for potentially altered cycles. Clear and trusted information is particularly important for those who rely on being able to predict their menstrual cycles to either achieve or avoid pregnancy.
Ivermectin doesn't work. Recently, unfortunately, I've had to liase with intensivists more than I ever have in a 12 year career, with slim, healthy, unvaccinated pregnant women ending up needing significant, extensive care or worse. To my dismay there are women leaving their children without mother's in the northwest due to covid. If it worked we'd use it. Stop peddling Joe's crank nonsense.

Unfortunately false claims about fertility impact are also being used to discourgage vaccination among pregnant or trying to be pregnant women.

Far-right ‘proud Islamophobe’ Laura Loomer wins Republican primary in Florida
Extremist candidate has been banned from Twitter, Uber and Lyft for expounding hateful viewswww.independent.co.uk
Laura Loomer, who has described herself as a “proud Islamophobe” and earned a reputation for staging one-woman “stunts” both online and off, is now the Republican nominee for the safely Democratic Palm Beach district which covers the president's Mar-a-Lago Resort, and where Mr Trump himself votes.
Ms Loomer was banned from Twitter in 2018 for violating its rules on hateful conduct; she responded by handcuffing herself to the front door of the company’s headquarters. She was also permanently barred from ride-sharing platforms Uber and Lyft after ranting online about being late for a meeting because she couldn't find a non-Muslim cab driver.
But doctors are investigating, at least here in the US.Failure to investigate is part of the problem. Just an acknowledgement of such would be enough to ease people's nerves a little. This needs to be dealt with as I think it's one of the primary concerns with vaccine hesitancy
Ah I didn't know you were in the US. Hopefully more clarity on the issue will occur soon. There's a lot of fear mongering around all of this and it isn't helped you people just trying to shut down anyone with questions or hesitationsBut doctors are investigating, at least here in the US.
it is just a very complicated issue as irregular periods are not an uncommon symptom for a host of reasons.
