The UK are flat out lying about their numbers. Yesterday they said they had 20 ICU patients (altogether!) despite an entire London hospital no longer able to handle anymore patients. Today they announce 56 deaths and the ICU figure is still at 20. It's quite clear that the numbers don't stack up!

so far the media have said very little but surely someone starts asking the hard questions shortly.

The ICU figure is bizarre, but there is nothing to say the deaths all occured in hospital. Some will be elderly people, living by themselves, who have succumbed to this without anyone noticing.

Are you getting your info from that world of meters website it's where most of the numbers quoted come from, this is not an official body they collect their information from news articles on line. They even provide links to the articles they get their information from.. and unless the article they use has up to date numbers, world of meters just leave it as it was. Ireland has had 6 serious cases for the last week according to that.

Every night, without fail...

It's scary that we are on the exact same path as Italy

2 weeks ago today, Italy's total dead was 233, today Britain stands at 233

Can't believe the time we wasted a few weeks ago when we knew it was coming

a 70+ friend of mine (from a tennis forum) just wrote this to me:

do you think this is an ethical way of thinking?

From a blunt, realistic standpoint, it's probably what the only 'quick' solution would be.

I don't think it's the right solution and I don't think any government - even ours realised they couldn't - would allow it to hit full throttle. Too many people would die.

It seems our gov's plan is now to turn it on and off like a tap if they can over the next 6-12 months. Social distance, ban gatherings etc, then unban them, get people infected, put the measures back in place.

That's how they described it yesterday.

But let's face it, their plan has changed three times in one week.

Again I'm actually more frustrated with the entire western governments as a whole not acting sooner.

As in back in January. They couldn't have stopped it but we could have been much better prepared. I'm sure of that.

If people feel the need to analyse the UK data, then

... is where the official numbers are, and, to be honest, although the number of positive tests and deaths will be accurate, I wouldn't necessarily expect the "Patients Recovered" figure to be anywhere near accurate.

The Serious/Critical number on Worldometer is based on a figure from some time ago. afaik, no official figure is released for this number.
