Well, I have got the response I expected, but was expecting some to be in agreement.
If you think carefully about it, why is Whitty coming out with all this now such as “Curbs in 5 weeks” if things don’t improve?. It’s to scaremonger us into behaving all in good time for all the restrictions being lifted, funny how he’s doing this now with only three days left.
The Government cannot afford another lockdown, as it will mean in the long run more borrowing which takes ages enough to pay back to whoever they borrow this money from. This is even before you talk about all the money they will pay from the furlough coffers. They know this, but they cannot say it publicly, nor can they say “No more lockdowns”, as people will start behaving irresponsible just because restrictions are being lifted.
Why threaten lockdown if things don’t improve and there you are opening everything up?. It’s clearly scaremongering to make us behave and we know how to do this independently, we don’t need media limelight joggers like Whitty to tell us and using scare tactics to do it.
Yes, the first one was needed as well as the third, the second one was just odd, but the vaccine uptake has been huge since and a fourth will also make this government show themselves up as failures, which is something no government want to be remembered for.
