I am guessing far more people have actually had this virus than have been officially counted. That combined with people who are vaccinated gives us a lot of immunity.

Other than the immunocompromised and kids who are not eligible for a vaccine yet, I won’t feel sorry for anyone in the US who is unvaxxed and gets COVID now. You’ve had plenty of opportunities to protect yourself. It’s gone from being a community issue to a personal issue.

Agreed. Over the past couple weeks I’ve pretty much gone back to doing things like I did prior to March of last year. At this point, my mindset is that I’m not going to keep my car parked in the garage because other people can’t be bothered to wear their seatbelts. Until a month or so ago when many people didn’t have access to a “seatbelt” it was different. That’s no longer the case here.

I went to Austin last weekend for a baseball game. It wasn’t quite a full blast exposure to the masses because I was working press and not out in the stands… but I met some friends before the game and I made a quick stop on 6th Street afterwards to bring something home for my wife. I had a mask with me if anyone made me wear it, but no one did and I never felt like I needed to. I’ve been fully vaxxed for almost two months and except for large indoor crowds, I’m really about done with the masks for now.
