I actually think what Cummings says is probably true, and the government are a disgrace and we all know this etc. Just find it funny that they're suddenly all so willing to believe him. This is a man who claimed he went on a 40 mile drive to test his eye sight.

But, you can see both sides, just the lesson should be for people to be more considered initially or they end up looking like idiots.

A combo of currently low levels of the variant, seasonality and some natural immunity built in from previous large waves would be my guess. Some of the regions with a lot of ties/travel to India like the Bay Area have prety high vaccination rates - my local agency is reporting 86% of over 16s are vaccinated and 84% of over 12 population.

The potential for it to spread for all the reasons you state is a concern though - hence a lot of focus on the UK data.

”Here are WhatsApp messages that I received” is something that can, especially if you have the the technology of the security services, presumably can be proved a false statement. If Cummings is lying about them I assume Johnson will be able to demonstrate it.

Some of Cummings other claims that are not supported by physical evidence are more marginal - you need secondary witnesses to make a judgement on those, which have often been forthcoming.

Oh I agree, it's why I added on my last bit.
I don't think the two are mutually exclusive, I just find it funny how everyone went from saying he was a complete liar to then backing everything he said. Again, I reckon the stuff about the government is true.
 
Hospital figures - 5 deaths were announced today, down 11 on yesterday and down 1 on last Wednesday. 3 deaths were in English hospitals, down 13 on yesterday and down 3 on last week. The 7 day rolling average falls slightly to 7.86

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 9 deaths were announced today, down 1 on yesterday and up 3 on last Wednesday. The 7 day rolling average rises slightly to 9.43

For the 60 day cut off, 18 deaths were announced today, down 4 on yesterday and down 1 on last Wednesday. The 7 day rolling average falls slightly to 16.71

Should see a interesting comparison between the AZ and Pz vaccines based on how this Delta variant effects the US compared to how it effects the U.K.
