Chairman of the EMA stating that there is a clear link between the AZ vaccine and rare blood clotting in the brain.

"In my opinion we can now say it, it is clear that there is an association with the vaccine. However, we still do not know what causes this reaction," Marco Cavaleri, chair of the vaccine evaluation team at the EMA, told Italian daily Il Messaggero when asked about the possible relation between the AstraZeneca shot and cases of brain blood clots.

Cavaleri added that the EMA would say there is a link although the regulator would not likely be in a position this week to give an indication regarding the age of individuals to whom the AstraZeneca shot should be given.

The clue is in the word rare mate, you won't find medication on earth that doesn't come with health warnings and side effects for certain people.

Spare me the sophistry.

Ferguson was telling the government in February that half a million would be killed if a lockdown didn't happen. It was in the SAGE minutes on 27th February. Johnson locked down on 23rd March. Criminal. And there's more to the scientific community than SAGE. The former Chief Medical Officer, Dave King, was scathing of Johnson not locking down in late February/early March. That's why Independent SAGE was formed. Johnson is a man who couldn't be arsed turning up to COBRA meetings in February before this struck our shores - he wasn't even looking for advice, much less being guided by it.

He dropped the ball in both February/March and then again in the autumn. No ifs or buts.

The attempt to cover up that scumbag's crimes is not a very good look.
Ha ha Dave. Sophistry?. Definition, "the use of clever but false arguments, with the intention to deceive"

Well I can't be that clever because I had to look up what it meant. lol . And what have I said that is false?. Everything I said is in the SAGE minutes Dave. And I mean the full SAGE minutes, not just those that support your arguments. Yes Ferguson came up with the half million stats on 27th Feb. It was then that lockdown became an inevitability. They were then relying on Ferguson and his team to tell us when was best to lock down, and they couldn't have cocked it up more if they tried. 10th March, we're still 4-6 weeks behind Italy. 16h March. Oops sorry. By which stage it was already too late and we were firefighting.

I'm not trying to cover up any of the scumbag's crimes Dave. All I've said is that he followed the science in Feb/March and got it wrong, and he didn't follow the science in Aug/Sept and got it wrong again. How can that be covering anything up FFS. And ALL the evidence is there in the SAGE minutes to back me up.

As regards Dave King, you do know he was CMO during Blair's reign don't you. I'm surprised you're giving him the time of day. Plus he's possibly the biggest biggot I've ever come across in my life. He's the only panelist I've ever seen threatened with being thrown off the program on Question Time because he was interrupting and shouting over everybody, including the audience. Totally odious man. And most of the members of Independent SAGE are in there because they have been overlooked for the real SAGE. Our academia is full of brilliant but self entitled arseholes, who become bitter and twisted when their expertise is overlooked for something as big as this covid pandemic. I know who I'd rather listen to.

They shouldn't have put dates in the calendar. They should've announced what would open in sequence as part of the roadmap and link it to infection rate or something similar.

Putting firm dates in diaries means the public disregard any other messaging.
I get what you mean. It was a difficult place for them really because everybody was clammering for a road map out of this, complete with dates, and this was led principally by our wonderful media. There would have been hell to pay if he hadn't, including from all sides of parliament.

Having said that, I don't think anybody expected the 21 June date for cessation of all restrictions, and I still think he got that wrong. The earliest date should have been end of July when everybody is expected to have been vaccinated by.

Even if that date goes ahead, I don't think it will be normality as we remember. For large gatherings/functions there'll be requirements such as certificates of test/vaccine, there'll be huge amounts of testing going on, and a lot of social venues like restaurants will still keep some social distancing restrictions in place until they know that it's safe. A lot of people will continue to wear masks voluntarily.

BS.

"Modelling from the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) showing that, while stage two of the unlocking is unlikely to exert pressure on the NHS, the proposed changes for May and June when social mixing is set to be permitted again could cause hospital admissions to rise to levels seen during January’s winter peak. Minutes from the Sage meeting on March 31 said there could be resurgences in hospital admissions “of a similar scale to January 2021 after later stages of the road map”.
Dave. They will do various model based on different "R" rates, and the one your quoting (not sure what the source is but it is irresponsible reporting IMO) is undoubtedly the worse case scenario.

Given that the vaccine reduces hospital admissions by 80%, there would need to be at least 4 times the number of infection cases to lead to this. So you're talking 250,000 a day. I just can't see this happening.

Vaccines dried up or Bank Holiday dead cat bounce?

So, in an interview in an Italian paper, the chair of the EMA has given his opinion.
In the same article he is only indicating what the EMA as an organisation will say, but probably not for another week.

I would have liked it if he had provided some data that drives his opinion.
Would you like a chocolate biscuit and a cup of tea to go with that request, sir?

He's spelled it out for you. It's dangerous gnat's piss if you're under 30.

'It is clear there is a link'
Next line
'we don't know what it is'
No contradiction in that. The link is established; we dont know why it's happening, but it is.

It's like saying a car starts making a noise when travelling over 50 MPH on a regular baisis, but I cant say yet what it is because we haven't made a lot of checks on similar vehicles having the same problem to come up with a conclusive declaration.

...but if it causes cerebral embolisms they dont just keep on stocking on the shelves, do they?
