You think they sent a 'formal letter'?
Is that the best they can do? Yes it is. Because the contracts the EU have signed and have are hardly worth the paper they are written on.
The contracts they have are based on 'Best Endeavours' which mean no guaranteed supply at all. Thats what the EU agreed and signed with AZ.
If not (and the answer Bruce is desperately trying to avoid admitting) is that yet again, the great and the good of the almighty EU cocked up
and they would have gone legal on AZ in an instant without a shadow of a doubt if they could. But they can't.
AZ, knew they could sell as many as they could make...to all and anybody
EU, needed as many as they could get
It was the purest sellers market you could see.
You want it? Sign here, don't bother reading it, its sign or not sign.
They signed.

Received my vaccine this morning at Clatterbridge hospital. It's not on the list of vaccination centres on the NHS website ! I only found out due to my niece getting hers there. She's only 19 and had no problems getting an appointment. I saw a fair few people there who appeared to be much younger than 50, so might be worth trying to book an appointment if you are a mere stripling.

Here's how to book an appointment :

It does say Over 50s but there is a lot of slots available on Thursday and Friday.

I might call the number first to check.

Chairman of the EMA stating that there is a clear link between the AZ vaccine and rare blood clotting in the brain.

"In my opinion we can now say it, it is clear that there is an association with the vaccine. However, we still do not know what causes this reaction," Marco Cavaleri, chair of the vaccine evaluation team at the EMA, told Italian daily Il Messaggero when asked about the possible relation between the AstraZeneca shot and cases of brain blood clots.

Cavaleri added that the EMA would say there is a link although the regulator would not likely be in a position this week to give an indication regarding the age of individuals to whom the AstraZeneca shot should be given.

So, in an interview in an Italian paper, the chair of the EMA has given his opinion.
In the same article he is only indicating what the EMA as an organisation will say, but probably not for another week.

I would have liked it if he had provided some data that drives his opinion.
