Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

It was you that had heard "anecdotal evidence" of "Packed rooms with poor ventilation" at vax sites.

Pretty much everyone else, who have actually had a jab, have countered that with "bollox".

Thats a pretty false picture.
And I said that I didn't expect that to be the majority of people's experiences.

But why spoil a good story with the facts.

You know that I've being making the case all through the thread today that NHS settings will be fine (where the vast majority are carried out). I highlighted one specific type of location that maybe weren't as efficient (based on the anecdotal evidence I've heard): civic rooms / halls. Not super hub mass testing centres, not hospitals, not surgeries.

Well, I reckon more jabs will take place at non NHS sites. Basically, because the max vax sites are all non NHS.

There is absolutely no difference if a nurse jabs you in a GP surgery, a church hall, or a football stadium. From a clinical point of view. There is no need for sanitised conditions, other the usual stuff we are all very used to now.

But like I said, it was you that started this thread within a thread, with "anecdotal" evidence of packed rooms, etc etc etc.

The actual experiences of the vast majority of folk, on here at least, is the polar opposite.

Just seen a news article on Hancock and his Whats App messages to his mate who owns the local pub. He got a £30m contract for PPE.

This country is an absolute joke.

I dont visit vaccination hubs with a clipborad.

I am told by others who have had their jabs and without exception they report a 30-35 minute process. The socially distancing varies from spot-on to casual.

When I get mine I'll be able to appreciate what's going on more - and good, bad or indifferent I'll say what happened here.

All this is is an attempt to gather info on people's experiences. Why is it being seen as a threat to the vaccine roll out? That's the impression I get. Cant we have an idea of what's going on in these places without it descending to a binary conflict over super-efficient or a shambles?

With respect, what is the purpose of the point your trying to make?

I'm going for my own soon and many more people on this forum will also. It's an attempt to find out what faces us. That's the purpose. I believe people will be interested.

Since you asked the question, from a quick look 13 posters have responded with their experiences (apologies if I've missed anyone).

- 11 said they had very good experiences in terms of organisation, speed, social distancing etc. One reported their Dad had a wait due to a clerical error but noted that everyone else at the centre seemed to be dealt with efficiently.

- 1 person said they had bad experiences at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. The issue seems to be a clerical error but also mentioned that social distancing wasn't well observed

EDIT: Sorry @bigjonny says on the next page he was happy with his experience and has no qualms about going back. I put him in this section as he mentioned it was busy but he didn't actually say anything negative about his trip there. So I have amended. My mistake, apologies.

In conclusion, based on a small GOT sample, the vast majority of people have reported very positive experiences so you shouldn't be worried if you are soon to be vaccinated.
