Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

For those who've had the jab, what are people's experience of the vaccination sites (conditions / efficiency). Heard a few horror stories, especially in places adapted to roll out the vaccine as opposed to the NHS sites: social distancing not all it should be, 45 minute waiting time (even for AZ vaccinations), poorly ventilated window-less rooms, packed waiting areas.

I dont expect too many will report all of those faults; but I'm hearing enough anecdotal evidence to suggest that the high volume of vaccinations are causing slippages in protocols, as in the above examples.

We went to a Sports Centre. Very well organised, inside and out, everyone given a specific time to arrive, by the minute, everyone masked up, socially distanced, massive hall with inoculation desks well spread out, in and out in minutes. Like clockwork.....

From what I hear about the worst experiences they are in adapted civic halls with almost no consideration given to ventilation or social distancing. Pack em in and get em out.

Unless I missed it, every single actual experience of folk or their relatives getting a jab across the country on here has been positive feedback.

But you seem to have anecdotal evidence of horror stories and it being pretty poor. Funny that. Maybe the folk telling you these horror stories have a similar agenda to your self.

Great tbh. Was there max half an hour, moved quickly through the queues, everyone spaced out, surfaces being wiped down as people moved around, nurses doing temp checks and giving out hand sanitizer - whole shebang

To add on to this - got an AstraZeneca jab, which wouldn't have been my choice but beggars can't be choosers and all that

Don't feel 100 percent today - very dry mouth, sore arm, feel a lot like you do with a hangover but alas.

In normal times that vaccine would be stood down.

The batch would, not the vaccine. Over 24 million in the U.K. have had this, millions more in Europe, tens of millions in India etc etc. If, and at this moment it is a big IF, there is a problem with a batch then it can be dealt with.....

Is this your first ever flu type jab or do you get them every year ?....

People have very specific times to turn up, it’s not a free for all.....

No, go back and read what I initially posted. I said sites that were very specific: non-NHS sites.

Same here, which was generated by the DSS system talking to the centralised NHS one. Like I didnt tell the NHS I was a registered carer, the DSS did. Must be the same for you.

Perhaps your Grand Father telling his GP about you helping him kinda prompted some records being updated, cos the DSS wouldnt have gone looking for folk, its all automated.

Makes the head spin a bit.
My brother in law looks after naughty kids in young offenders institutions. When he went for his flu jab at his GPs they asked what he actually did. He was in their system as a social worker. When he told them they changed his occupation to carer and he was shunted up the priority list.

Batche(s).

Plural.

I have had misgivings about the AZ vaccine from the off. The more I read about it the more I have.
