Today is last day for year 11.
Can confirm there will be no GCSE examinations this year.

Crazy times ahead.

Can´t believe the pictures of how busy the tube is back in London. Madrid is deserted.

Situation is deteriorating even more here. This State of Alarm will be continuing far beyond 29th March.

Really? I just don't see how we're so far behind Italy (even with the measures in place).

The economy is going to be shot. Obviously not just for us, but everywhere.

We're at what, 3% debt ratio compared to our GDP right now (after 10 years of austerity). It's going to be up at 30-35% they're predicting inside 10-12 weeks.

For perspective, wasn't it around 10% when Labour were last in power?
The only silver lining, if there is one, is that the economic impact will be global and as such a level playing field; also, there hasn't be a recent fair comparison.

It's easy to compare it with the likes of WWI and WWII, but they're the closest we've got in terms of economic impact combined with restrictions on society.
I just can't see how the country is gonna be able to keep going like this for 12 weeks.

It's been four days...
When the reality of the situation kicks in, I do sincerely believe that people will start to adapt and pull together; there really is no other choice!

This will become the norm, pretty soon. Folk will stop being bells in the shops, staying home and making your own fun, all that, will be normal.

Helping out your neighbours, or random elderly folk, will become normal.

When the chips are down, these islands are a pretty resolute bunch of folk.

Here in Spain there was a mad rush to the shops when they were predicting the State of Alarm being introduced. Since then, the shops have been better stocked than ever. At least for me anyway.

It´s an awful situation though. With the measures being the way they are here it doesn´t build a sense of community, you just feel alone.

There is a silver lining though, as it looks like their exams will be being awarded on their " expected " grades.

So, if they`ve been pulling their tripe out, they`ll be okay.

It’s a nice Idea and I certainly hope so mate . A lot of people have been generous in spirit and time and an awful lot have pulled together but a significant number have been shown up to be selfish scumbags and that’s in a variety of ways . I’ve been really disappointed by quite a decent number of people . Sad more than anything really I suppose although experience should have taught me not to be surprised .
