The only silver lining, if there is one, is that the economic impact will be global and as such a level playing field; also, there hasn't be a recent fair comparison.Really? I just don't see how we're so far behind Italy (even with the measures in place).
The economy is going to be shot. Obviously not just for us, but everywhere.
We're at what, 3% debt ratio compared to our GDP right now (after 10 years of austerity). It's going to be up at 30-35% they're predicting inside 10-12 weeks.
For perspective, wasn't it around 10% when Labour were last in power?

...if you can believe the numbers, there’s now been more deaths in Italy than China.
This will become the norm, pretty soon. Folk will stop being bells in the shops, staying home and making your own fun, all that, will be normal.
Helping out your neighbours, or random elderly folk, will become normal.
When the chips are down, these islands are a pretty resolute bunch of folk.
Thats cos when the Chinese say stay at home, they stay at home.
Meanwhile, in Italy and the rest of Europe peoples sense of entitlement wont stop even when the bodies pile up.
