Regretting that we stopped keeping chickens, for the eggs, not the meat.

My MA just rang me saying that she saw on FB that revolut bank is in bother they've taken a hammering on the stockmarket due to the virus, and could go bust. Has anyone heard anything about this? I have a few pound saved with them but I'm not on FB to verify.

Sorry for delay.European package holiday update.Missus will be working from home (Christ THAT'S MY AFTERNOON SESSION OUT THE WINDOW) All flights to Greece and Cyprus suspended till 30th of April.It will be reviewed on a day to day basis.The advice is, adhere to what you have been told by your governments.As far as the Summer Holiday breaks all is ok with bookings after that date at the MOMENT.Will probably be able to update from tomorrow in regular intervals as she is working from home. YAY FFSf

You mean the lockdown that started a few days ago? For a virus that takes 2 weeks?

TBF he probably wasn't hiding behind the advice of his stooges; that is not how advice in government departments usually works.

What probably happened was that the officials presented a number of options with pros and cons and possibly a recommendation. Johnson then picked one, and given the option he initially picked was the one with - they believed - the least economic damage, the one that was literally "survival of the fittest" and the one which proved to be different to what the world was doing and what other experts recommended I think its fairly likely he didn't pick the one they recommended.

Their job is to provide the scientific data and argue a clear case for a course of action, not provide a smorgasbord of offerings for numb nuts to choose from.

Vallance was head of R&D at GlaxoSmithKline, so its little wonder he was chosen for his post.
