teachers should go on strike till they get the jab it's an absolute joke they're being forced to do this. It's only a virus that's killed 108k in England.

don't open schools then if they aren't vaccinated.

I havnt a dog in the fight re schools opening or not, (I personally wouldnt, just lob another year on every kids time in school), but the evidence is that there are about 20 occupations where the risk of infection are greater than teaching. Only a few get priority jabs.

Somehow I don’t feel that your response would have been quite so generous and forgiving if this had been done by the U.K. government. I can only imagine the U turn claims, the claims of additional deaths caused by this failure to act, poor leadership, incompetent officials, Bananas, Murderers etc... Any nation outside of U.K. = always right, U.K. = always wrong.......
If this government ever went by evidence they would get crerdoit. They dont. They are respoonsible for killing the bulk of the 120,000 dead. That's why they will never be forgiven and some day will pay the price.

Did you not see the Covid update the other day? The reasons were laid out pretty plainly.

The only problem as I see it is that as soon as one group is done, the unions of every other group will demand the same, Police, underground workers etc etc.

Personally I have no problem with getting all the teachers done, in fact at current rates of vaccination the U.K. could do every teacher in a single day. It may make absolutely no difference medically to the spread of this virus, but it would at least remove any arguments about reopening schools......

But what about the U.K. vaccination rollout, more vaccinations given than Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Holland combined. It’s been a fantastic effort which you ignore or try and put down with arguments of second doses. The U.K. has led this, been proven right every step of the way, and tbh I’m very proud of what everyone involved is doing in this respect...

It even looks like the Vanarama League gnats piss is doing a great job too.

His decisions on housing are absurd.

He’s going to extend the stamp duty holiday which helps non-first time buyers who are more well off. This has already made prices sky rocket.

Then he’s going to introduce an incentive for more 5% deposit mortgages. On houses up to 600k....

If you’re buying a 600k house with a 5% deposit, you are well off. You shouldn’t need deposit assistance. Banks won’t look at you unless your combined income with a partner is over £150k.

Meanwhile both of these things will continue to drive up house prices for those who are actually struggling to buy.
I'm actually looking to buy for the first time. Lucky enough to get a deposit together. We had an offer accepted but ended up having to pull the plug after structural surveys. The stamp duty holiday is a right pain. It wont benefit me as the thresholds are far higher than what we're looking at. Solicitors, brokers etc are all snowed under with work so it's all moving at a snails pace.

pete the second dose argument is not “a put down” - it’s a statement of fact; all the vaccines currently given out require a second dose to be fully effective.

delaying the second dose of a vaccine, without evidence to say if it will still be effective, without manufacturer approval and for reasons that aren’t to do with the person getting the vaccine dose, is a real issue of concern that even you’ve acknowledged in the past

TBF any housing policy decision that doesn’t involve the state building many more social housing units is ridiculous. The market clearly isn’t providing them, and rents / sales are a perfect way of getting more money back into the states coffers than borrowing the money to build them will cost.

I'm a 39 year old teacher.
I wish I could be vaccinated before going back but I have been working from home for 11 weeks.
The kids need to go back (so many struggling) and I am at less risk now than I was in September.
I think people working in supermarkets etc. should be above me as they have had to go to work.
If going by age simplifies and speeds up the rollout then it is for the best.

Wouldn't work to hold them back a year as you'd then have 8 classes in a primary and they only have 7 classrooms. You'd have to push the start age back forever to keep the correct numbers and thats not ideal.
