Actually, Johnson is starting to sound vaguely statesmanlike. He is taking the cautious route which makes a change from his attitude a year or so ago.

I saw a statistic a week or so ago stating none of those vaccinated in Britain had been infected or gone to hospital and there was a 100% success rate.

That must still be the case, I suppose or we would have heard about it.

Earlier this year you were reporting daily infection rates of above 40,000 iirc. The figure has dropped to around 10 to 12 thousand.

Surely that is as a result of 15 million vaccinations.

Wonder if it is a combo of more infections caused by variations like B117 plus younger people adopting riskier behavior (knowing the risk to their parents/grandparents is lower as they are already partially/fully vaccinated)?

Israel has a number of religious groups who completely deny the existance of covid and who basically carry on as normal. I recently read they have extremely high cases in these areas, probably still the same now but its been a month since I last looked.

There will be some vaccinated people in hospital as it takes a good few weeks to build up immunity but you are right that the statistics are looking positive.

Slowest sets pace has some merit... Of course in this instance other countries can and should help out.
Unfortunately for those who subscribe to nationalism, the virus does not much care, it's just pleased that some people won't be or half vaccinated for unspecified amounts of time so it can continue spew out it's mutations.

There have been mass 5 figure gathering for the funeral of Rabbi's etc, from what I've read it has not been a particularly strict nor well observed lockdown (especially the younger generation)
