Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

The WHO, unfortunately, are beholden to political influence and therefore are basically a complete irrelevance in this discussion. It's like the Pope calling for peace during a World War - all very nice to do, but actual reality gets in the way.

The UK government will, correctly, emphasise the vaccination of their own populace, like any country would do. Charity begins at home. I'm sure we'll be supplying massive amounts when we have excess.

On another note, 600k vaccines in one day - staggering achievement. Four weeks ago I was expecting that to be around the weekly amount at best given the Tory track record.
Down to the NHS despite this tory gang of shysters.
Just had my first jab (Pfizer) and told I have to wait 12 weeks for my 2nd.
The administering of the vaccine seems to be working well where I Iive (Knowsley) and I suspect that they will be ahead of schedule, which is good to know.
Kudos to all the health service staff involved

Did he ??
Missed that.

Your store near me has replaced a staffer with security on their door when I visited the other day.

Made a point of saying "afternoon" on the way in, and "thanks" on the way out. Must be bored out his skull.

I mentioned it on here the other day that it’s purely down to the grief the normal staff were getting.
It’s only supposed to be a short term measure, as it costs a bomb to get these agency guards in.

Just looking at the figures on the roll out of the vaccine on the Island of Ireland.

Isn't that much difference between the two jurisdictions considering NI has had three vaccines for an additional month compared to the Republics two and the differing spacing out policy between the first and second Jabs difference by the NHS and HSE.

N.I.: 204,065

Republic: 147,700

as a % of population it is a big difference....,

I think that that town in North Somerset has a higher number of bell ends than the average in the area.

Nearly 600,000 first jabs given yesterday and about 10,000 second jabs. If this doesn’t give people a positive feeling then I feel sorry for you. ......,

Just done my tax return.

I still cant quite work out why I earned last tax year than before, but the tax bill is double ffs.

Still, its not that much, and happy to do my bit, fiscally.

Had our moneys worth this last 13 months.
