Mine has. She’s a nurse in London.

Guessing you may not have heard if you live in the North West. It won’t be far off.

I think London has been worse hit than most other areas mate

Our Trust has written to all the recently retired nurses today asking if they would come back. My wife works in the community and as they are only doing urgent visits, they are staffing the wards with them. No leave cancelled yet as they've said we need to look at peoples mental health.

All trainee doctors won't be rotating in April and more than likely they'll all be pulled back in to A+E's

The armed forces will be relied on and used.

London in lockdown is going to be mental. There'll be a curfew too but there's definitely going to be riots and looting too at some stage if it goes on for long (like there might be anywhere).

And this is why I think people are being far too quick to judge with the schools thing.

Kids off school for possibly up to six months...
I wouldn't say it's overly likely, but it's definitely more of a possibility than say a week ago. What I do know is that the response to any such acts will be severe.

In a time of need like this is, there's no chance they will be freely allowing much needed police, fire and NHS resources to be wasted on dealing with rioting.

Wait.........you have a Mrs?

I’m as surprised as you are believe me.

Cheers mate, when it’s effective from ?

The nurses all had questionnaires they had to fill in which asked them about their willingness to be moved from their standard role, flexibility with hours, hosting other staff etc. It’s a very fast moving situation and she says they’ve not given any definites yet. As she is on an outpatient ward they have avoided any Covid patients currently. Seems they are trying to keep Covid patients isolated to specific wards in particular hospitals for as long as possible because once they break out into every hospital the service for general patients will fail.

It`s getting worse by the day, my missus has just come in and said the latest " in" thing to panic buy is shampoo, as there`s no hand gels or soap, people are stock piling it to use it as regular soap.

I`m really starting to understand why people say " f*** it all " and go and live in the wilderness.
We went to the supermarket earlier. It was just our weekly food shop so didn't even look at the toiletries section. The following were cleaned out, and I mean totally bare.

Fresh meat. Not a chicken leg, packet of mince or a £6.35 pork fillet

Root vegetables. Not a carrot, potato or onion in sight.

Tinned veg. Except for a few tins of sweet corn and beans and sausage. Oh, I got the last small tin of garden peas.

Pasta. Of every variety, together with most of the jars of pasta sauce. The rice section had taken a heavy battering too.

Fresh Eggs. Every size and colour.

Sliced bread. Every brand and size. Although there was plenty of the fresh baked stuff from the bakery which presumably was cooked acfter the hoards had been.

The freezers were mostly empty too. No chips or frozen meals. And the milk we normally buy with a longer shelf life had been wiped out too.

It was a bit like going shopping at 9pm on Christmas eve.

Yep, I fear London is just a barometer of things to come unfortunately. Gwynedd hospital in North Wales has apparently been inundated with self isolating older people with second homes in the area who normally live down south.

The army being deployed onto the streets is very unlikely.

Yet, I was told we could expect the likes of the RLC, RAMC and REME to play ancillary roles, albeit in the background, to help facilitate general services.

Will it happen in the short-term? No, but when the virus reaches it's peak then they will play some part. You'd hope NBC training would at least help to an extent.

It's so strange

WHO is heavily influence by China in such a way it couldn’t function as intended. Long history between Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and China that dates back to the days of foreign minister of Ethiopia. China influence thru debt diplomacy of belt and road initiative is deeper than you’d imagine.
