Aye, outside reporting of the rule Britannia bubble... Looks like this-

"But the UK's recorded death toll, from a population of 66 million, far outweighs the record tolls in other major countries, including the US, on a per capita basis".

Optimistic even if there is enough vaccine to go round.
It's looking increasingly like manufacturers have been taking orders for more than they can supply.

Not really, if they carry on at 500,000 a day then they will have vaccinated 50m people twice within 200 days,

Remember the Moderna and Novavax vaccines sould be available soon and the UK has got large orders of them.

Europeans had it enough...lots of govts will be collaped in the old continent. 2021 will be weird

Yeah, once the vaccine is out there then the pressure on governments is going to be too much.

It's not just about 'the economy'. People aren't meant to be pent up for a sustained amount of time.

But, right now, priority for every country - Europe especially given the fact it's winter and the pandemic is still so bad here - needs to be on the vaccine and getting 'jabs in arms' as they say. The more people get protection sooner, the better.

It looks like the EU will sue AstraZeneca before they even approve the vaccine...

Its been known for a while that PCR tests can detect the dead virus and give a positive result when the person is not infectious anymore.

Can you link up that report please?

All I've seen on the BBC website is the variant may be more deadly.
Come back to this discussion a bit late I think. Are you looking for the link to the WHO report? If so the technical note is on the WHO website at: https://www.who.int/news/item/20-01-2021-who-information-notice-for-ivd-users-2020-05

That’s true, but the long term urgency EU has to put in place a public health system across the entire Schengen area as the result of this, and probably a common external border. They cannot go back to what existed before.
