...and putting Liverpool City Region into Tier 2 and the place became a basket case for infections.

The Tier system did not work. No serious health expert believes it has.

The severity of this second wave is down to Johnson and his government. Record deaths are down to him. They effectively turbo-charged a second wave by not locking down...and still we dont have an effective one.

They care about money not people. That's why we're here.

There was the widespread testing in Liverpool which is why it was placed into tier 2.

Because people are still mixing indoors.

I guarantee a lot of people on here will know people who are still mixing socially.

Some of my missus mates, who are nurses and should know better are amongst the worst offenders.

Multiply this across the country.

My housemate works hard in the hospital and I wouldn't be wanting to do her job.

But she's round at her boyfriend's every other night, and occasionally he'll stay at ours.

A relationship with someone I was seeing in the summer/early autumn didn't last because in the November lockdown we decided not to travel an hour to see each other, and then she's had to start looking after her gran and we just couldn't make it work.

I don't really blame my housemate for wanting to see her boyfriend - she doesn't go and see her parents so I suppose in a way that's her support bubble - but she's on the frontline and working in the wards day in day out.

Only another 70 or so days to go..

Genuinely just try not to put an end date on it. Treat it like the first lockdown.

The added positive here is that we know that the nicer weather will help - that is hopefully coming in a few months. It means less general illness in people so less strain on the NHS.

We then have the vaccine, which is being rolled out at an extremely good pace so far and it appears we may well be set to hit the 14m target by mid-to-late Feb.

That's not to say lockdown will end in Feb, but it's a key step towards beating this.

The girl my missus more than likely caught it off, had a big family get together over Christmas.

This is despite when she got it, she was bad, as was her fella.

They also went to a big secret New Years Eve bash by us, where the great a good of Liverpool where there.

I won’t name names, but Pete Price was one of them.

This is despite the fact that her mum and dad are in a nursing home with dementia and she’s seen first hand what it does to a nursing home.

Short of house arrest and curfews, how do you stop this ?

Those who have had or know of people who have had the Covid jab...how were you contacted? I'm in the fourth group so expecting to hear something and just wondered how others were asked to go for it?

Imperial is running a study into this too.
