Where are you getting 2022 from, you`ve gone full on Captain Manwairing there ?

Once enough of the vulnerable and elderly have been vaccinated things will hopefully start to open up again, that won`t take a year.

It should do.

My worry is scare-mongering (not just from the media, but the same losers on social media who haven't left their houses in 10 months, and just want to point fingers all their life and get everything for free) and that spreading fear and also pinning blame on others who are trying to return to normality in some form once spring is here and the vaccines are out.

It seems like there'll always be something - and I said this on here a few weeks ago - that will end up with people just screaming lockdown or for there to be no change until every single person is vaccinated.

They're saying that this south african variant might not be covered by the vaccine, if it isn't surely its going to take some time to create a vaccine and then to get it injected into everyone?

I'm not an expert in vaccine development but surely you'd be looking at quite some time for that to be done?

Who is saying and how do " they " know that ?

How about waiting to see, before we all start jumping off the nearest tall building ?

Well they have the basics of this vaccine don't they? They don't have to start from scratch so at least there's that?

Also, it's still covid-19. It's still the same virus, just a different variant. People who have the vaccination will still have protection in some form, and it's not like covid actually infects everyone or does damage to everyone.

The actual percentage of people who get ill (as in completely bed-ridden) from this is low. Obviously an even smaller percentage is in risk of hospitalisation. It's still a lot of people, but it's not everybody.

Email just now off kids schools.
Loads of teachers not going in, cleaning staff not going in.
School shut.
Nice one. FFS.
The Primary school just emailed again..
They now have cleaners.. but 17 staff are refusing to go into work on Union advice.

This could get very messy indeed.

There needs to be some perspective in all of this or some people are never going to leave their house again.

Add in if one strain is resistant it would likely only take a few months if not weeks to tweak one of the existing vaccines to cover that one like we do with the flu every year.

The main thing is we have the base vaccine so should be able to tweak that you would imagine.
